DuoFertility USB Skin Patch Monitors Ovulation

June 6th, 2008 by AndrewD in Medical Gadgets, USB Gadgets

People say that the world population is reaching epidemic numbers. This might be true, but imagine how many more little people there would be crawling around if so many couples didn’t have fertility issues. Not to mention a lot more happy, yet stressed, parents.

Issues with fertility have luckily been getting a helping boost from the progress of technology. Medications and laboratory fertilization has totally changed the concept of getting pregnant. Though if you don’t want to grow your baby in a lab, there are other methods on the way to help before reaching that point. The DuoFertility USB Skin Patch could one day help millions of couples plan their newest addition to the family.

Personal Humidifier in pretty pink

June 4th, 2008 by Ally in Electronic Gadgets, Medical Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

It is to that point in the year that some are suffering from those wretched allergies.  If you don’t have time to lay in bed all day, this little humidifier can go with you anywhere.  It’d be perfect when you’re stuck at the office or have to travel for work.  Just sit it on your desk and attach a regular water bottle to it and you have warm air blowing up your nose all day long.  However, if you’re a guy and not so cool with pink gadgets you might have a slight issue with this one.

Artificial Heart

June 3rd, 2008 by Edwin in Medical Gadgets

This artificial heart you see here grosses me out, but count me in if it will be able to save lives. Originally invented by a human who is now too feeble to even row a boat, the artificial heart can pride itself in being the first practical robot organ to be incorporated into a living Russian dog. Unfortunately for us humans, our body will most likely reject plastic organs since we aren’t Barbies to begin with. Thankfully the advances of science has since been able to make us survive much longer than we ought to, and I would love to see more technologically advanced medical discoveries in the near future, with the artificial heart paving the way.

Magellan Travel Scale

May 29th, 2008 by AndrewD in Electronic Gadgets, Medical Gadgets

Weight loss isn’t exactly one of my major priorities. It’s not that I couldn’t spare a few pounds (or a lot of few pounds, even), it’s just that with so much going on in my life right now, it seems like a I can’t find a spare second to sleep, let alone weigh myself and monitor food intake. Does this sort of mentality remind you of anyone?

Health and physical well-being are on an upswing compared to the indulgence of the late-90s and early millennium years. People are starting to get back into their peak condition for health reasons, rather than sex appeal, even though that’s always a plus. But how can you work such a time-swallowing event into your traveling? The Magellan Travel Scale is the key.

Free Spirit Wheelchair

May 13th, 2008 by Edwin in Medical Gadgets

free-spirit.jpgMarcus Cunnington relied on his illustrious background that includes experience as an aerospace technician to a stint in research and development on the Williams F1 team to come up with Free Spirit – touted to be the lightest manual rigid wheelchair in the world. Just how light is it? Well, it tips the scales at 6.3kg and features a carbon fiber composite design to achieve such a phenomenal weight. I suppose one can actually now lift wheelchairs when working out, replacing weights instead. The Free Spirit line is available via Marcus’ own company, Future Chairs, and customers will be able to choose from ’standard’ and ‘ergo’ models.

xtensor_hand_exerciser.jpg

Every diehard gamer knows that reaction time is just about everything when it comes to fight-based computer games. As long as you a have sharp mind and fast moving digits, you’d figure everything would be working at top notch.

But sometimes, even the fastest thinking people have a problem coordinating their hands to move as fast as their mind, not to mention that over time, especially on all-night gaming sessions, your fingers and wrist are bound to get weak throughout the night, totally causing hell to your gaming skills.

If your fingers have a tough time keeping up with your mind, there’s only one way to solve this problem, and no, it is not to think slower. The Xtensor Geek Hand Exerciser is the only contraption on the market which is geared towards hand strength for gaming specifically in mind.
