Jamo A 804 Speaker is ultra thin

by Mark R

The Jamo A 804 Speaker is based on a simple principle of space-saving. Since most people are buying television sets that are getting thinner and thinner, it is no surprise that there would be a demand for speakers that are just as skinny.

The A804 Speakers are a mere 3.9 inches thick, and are housed in a black leather/high gloss enclosure. As for what is inside these speakers, they have a .75 silk-dome tweeter with Jamo’s unique WaveGuide technology for clear highs, and “the 4.5-inch midrange and two 4.5-inch woofers provide stirring midrange and deep, booming bass”.

These thin speakers are quite versatile, as they can be mounted both horizontally and vertically. They can work as left, right, center channel, or even a rear surround speaker.

Asus Eee Box B203

by Edwin

Looks like Asus ain’t about to corner just the netbook market with their Eee PC brand, but they will attempt to make a name for themselves in the desktop PC niche as well. This time round, we have the Asus Eee Box B203 mini desktop PC that might be small in size, but big on possibilities. That’s what the marketing department claims anyway, so only time and tide will tell whether this little box lives up to all the hype or not. One thing’s for sure though – you won’t see your electricity bill spike after bringing home the Eee Box B203 since it consumes a mere 20 watts of power, reducing your carbon footprint by approximately 90% compared to a regular desktop PC. The whole idea of the Eee Box B203 is to fit into cramped spaces without sticking out like a sore thumb, while being environmentally-friendly with an easy-to-use user interface that allows newbies and beginners alike to jump in without having to go through a thick technical manual.

Finally, an iPod dock as elegant …

by James

Those who love to take their entertainment with them in the form of an iPod, still like to enjoy it at home. Thus, they may want to take a look at this gorgeous DLO HomeDock HD Pro dock for the iPod. It upscales all video to 720p/1080i quality images, has HDMI ports to connect to the big screen plasma or LCD, and also has optical digital audio ports to enjoy that Dolby Digital sound the way it was designed to be. And those early adopters who don’t mind dropping several thousand on a home theater system will appreciate the RS-232 ports as well. But the real advantage is the interface as the HomeDock PRO is the world’s first iPod dock that lets viewers select their iPod content directly on their big-screen TV.

Neuros Link gives your Television Access to Online Video Streaming

by Mark R

Since I do a lot of work on my computer during prime time hours, I miss a lot of shows. I do most of my serious TV watching from network websites on my laptop. Personally, I think video streaming is one of the greatest inventions for those who don’t own a TiVo. Now I can watch Chuck, Heroes, and all my favorite television shows with limited commercial interruptions.

The only thing that I miss is watching my favorite programs on my television itself. Generally I watch them on a tiny screen in the corner while I am doing other work. However, I could get a Neuros Link, which will give my television access to sites such as CBS, Hulu, CNN.com, FanCast, NBC.com, even YouTube.

In addition to providing access to hundreds of titles in VUDU’s proprietary HDX format and with the largest HD library available on-demand, the XL2 will allow the most discerning home theater owners to choose from more than 10,000 titles for instant viewing. Designed from the ground up to seamlessly integrate into custom theaters, the XL2 offers a terabyte of storage, enough to store more than 500 films at your fingertips. XL2 also offers IP and IR control that allow it to be integrated into most high-end home control systems, 1080i HD output over component, and the ability to route and switch HD signals through the home with the use of off-the-shelf video switchers.

The VUDU XL2 won’t come cheap though (style and substance rarely does in case you haven’t noticed), as it will retail for $1,299 a pop from over 1,000 VUDU-certified custom installers.

by Edwin

Most people love the convenience of convergence devices these days – for an everyday example, just take out your cell phone. Chances are it doubles up as your secondary digital camera and iPod, since it comes with both music playback capability and a pretty decent lens to capture impromptu moments. As for HDTVs, well, these are still pretty exclusive in terms of functionality although Silicon Mountain Holdings, Inc. hopes to change things by unveiling both a 32″ and 42″ High Definition LCD TV that not only features an integrated Blu-ray/DVD combo player, it also has a full fledged PC running within. Talk about being high powered!

Mitsubishi ready to debut LaserVue

by Edwin

Mitsubishi is looking forward to ushering in a new era in living room entertainment by introducing its new LaserVue TV which is ready for shipping. Will such laser technology overpower the combined might of both plasma and LCD at this point in time? I don’t think so – at least not yet. After all, LCD prices have been dropping pretty steadily over the years for them to be finally affordable for the average Joe, so to move up a notch to the next level is definitely out of the question for most people, in addition to the fact that most people are already tightening their belts due to the insanely high cost of living in which we’re faced with every day. Let us take a closer look at the Mitsubishi LaserVue TV right after the jump.

Slingbox SlingCatcher unveiled

by Edwin

Slingbox has just released yet another device for the living room, and this time round, this is a universal media player that will deliver broadcast TV, Internet video and personal content to the TV seamlessly. Fact of the matter is this – the SlingCatcher could eventually end up to be one of the more flexible Internet video devices released in recent memory. Slingbox did go as far as to describe the SlingCatcher being able to stream video from network TV sites such as ABC.com, videon content sites like Hulu.com and CollegeHumor.com, and community video sites such as YouTube.com. With a whole lot of videos for you to view, it makes me wonder whether you will have the time to watch all of them or not, or will it be relegated to certain dusty sectors of your hard drive in due time, ever waiting for “tomorrow” before it is viewed.
