The Trapdoor Toaster hopefully burns your toast less

July 20th, 2008 by Ally in Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

I will never quite understand why designers feel the need to ‘redefine’ toasters.  It browns bread people, not really exciting stuff.  Although there are those bizarre ones who actually blacken their toast to a charred crisp and on purpose no less.  Now that is exciting, well not exciting really but it’s at least interesting.  The cool thing with this toaster, is even though it features a completely new design, it’s not just a concept.  This one is actually being sold at place, with stuff.  I know, I was shocked too.

Limbo String is now portable

July 18th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Home Gadgets

Get your instant limbo kicks in with the Limbo String! No longer do you need to find a straight stick in the middle of nowhere with this device.

At the click of a button the multi-colored string whizzes into action creating a fluorescent arch that all your guests will have to lean backwards and dance through. Remember no touching of the string or you’re out. You don’t even need a stereo (although you may of course bring your own maracas)as the Limbo String has it’s very own Limbo Music to get you shaking to the groove. With a twist of the dial the string gets lower and the stakes get higher, so you might want to make sure everybody puts their drinks down: it could get messy! If you’re playing in the dark then why not flick on the black lights and everyone will be able to see the vivid dayglo string whipping its way through the air. For even more fun you can take the Limbo String out of its base and use it hand-held. It’s dead clever and will turn any party into a night everyone will remember for a long time - even if it’s because half your guests ended up in traction.

You will be able to bring home the Limbo String for £24.99.

LED Candelabra by Lux Et Deco

July 18th, 2008 by Ally in Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets

If you’re tired of wandering the house looking for whatever it is that goes bump in the night and having your candle just blow out on you at a very inconvenient moment, you might pick up one of these instead.  Since all of us immediately go for the highly fickle candelabra to inspect a spooky noise in the night, one designer decided to create an update.  I know, some of you might think it’s more reasonable to just pick up a flashlight instead, but that’s just crazy talk.  Candelabras are just cooler.

Water Jet Propelled Road Rocket

July 16th, 2008 by Edwin in Garden Gadgets, Home Gadgets

Summer time is here yet again, so what better way than to entertain yourself outdoors with the Water Jet Propelled Road Rocket?

This is the water jet fueled outdoor racer that reaches speeds up to 272 scale MPH as it sprays a stream of water in its wake. Simply fill the water tank with 34-40 oz. of water and pump in air to create thrust up to 60 psi (about 50 pumps). A step on the foot release pedal launches the vehicle amid a soaking jet spray. Modeled after the road rockets that once sped across Utahs famed Bonneville Salt Flats, the racers missile-shaped fuselage is vacuum formed PVC and has dual airfoils that enable it to travel up to 150′ on a paved, level outdoor surface. Includes an air pump with an integrated pressure gauge and two sheets of decals for customizing your racer. For ages 7 and up.

You will be able to pick up this fun garden toy for $42.95 a pop. At least it looks fun enough to tear the kids away from their Xbox 360s, Wiis and PS3s.

Allume Retractable Light For The Indecisive

July 15th, 2008 by AndrewD in Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets

Humans are instinctively dynamic. While we might fear some changes, there are plenty of the small things in life that we just get sick of seeing in the same place all of the time. For instance, say you have a chandelier, or any hanging light for that matter, in your dining room or kitchen. Can you honestly say you’ve never been pissed off about its location?

There are just times where you wish you could move that damn thing up a few inches or maybe slide it lower towards the ground by a foot or so. If you’ve ever yanked on those chintzy chains which hold hanging lights, you know that their strength is sometimes unforgiving. Napastyle offers an excellent retractable light, made just for those moments of indecisiveness.

Gin & Titonic: Celebrating Tragedy Since 1912

July 14th, 2008 by AndrewD in Kitchen Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Leonardo Decaprio is not amused. That snobby Kate Winslet is too busy swimming in pools of cash to care. And everyone else just loves the wit of a disaster being patronized for cash. And really, what’s not to love about the death of hundreds of people? Other than the whole death and people part.

Celebrating disaster since 1912, the Gin & Titonic kit is all you need to create your own mini-Titanic disaster right in the comfort of your own alcohol. Use real live sea monkeys as passengers for extra points. Included in the design are miniature ocean liners and icebergs which are the perfect size for simulating the horror of human tragedy from the comfort of your home.

The Pop-O-Matic Jukebox is lacking in tunes

July 14th, 2008 by Ally in Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

This cruel and unusual popcorn maker is excessively deceiving and did I mention cruel?  With it looking like a jukebox as it is, you would hope it would at least have speakers and a spot to plug in your iPod.  However, all it does is sit there and pop you popcorn.  I have a microwave for that function and it doesn’t even take up extra space.  As cool as this Pop-O-Matic is, we all know where it would end up in our kitchen.  That really deep dark spooky cabinet where you put the small appliances you rarely use.

The Solar Powered Heated Shower won’t cool you off

July 14th, 2008 by Ally in Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets

After spending all day in the pool with all that chlorine, a quick rinse before laying out in the sun would be nice. Especially if it meant you didn’t have to walk through the house and get everything between you and the shower soaked. The best thing about this solar powered shower is that it is heated. So you won’t have to freeze, as if you aren’t cold enough by getting out of the water. Sadly boys, I’m afraid that although as usual it features a cute girl posing underneath the downpour of water, she is not included in the price tag.
