Skin ya Roomba

April 22nd, 2006 by Al in Home Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

iRobot
If you’re the proud owner of one of those friendly robotic cleaners the Roomba or Scooba and are getting a bit bored of the look of them; instead of reverting back to conventional cleaning which you do your self (as if) you can now skin it. So the idea of skinning has now moved from software applications to domestic robotic cleaners (as I’m sure everybody expected).

The Cycloc Bike Hook

April 20th, 2006 by Al in Home Gadgets, Vehicle Gadgets

ClyclocThe cycloc is a simple solution to bike storage, instead of leaving the families bikes learnt all around the garage walls you can simply pick them up and hang them like a picture (a very muddy picture in my case).

The cycloc looks a bit like a green bucket and it’s ingeniousness is in its simplicity, only taking 3 screws to mount and capable of holding nearly any style of bike.

It’s available in the UK from Cycloc for under 50UKP (found via Stuff).

The Floating Pool Table

April 18th, 2006 by Al in Home Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Athe Aqua PubThis probably isn’t one for us who live in the northern hemisphere but if I lived in a country that had the weather for an outdoor pool that would be usable for more than a month a year I’d have to get me one of these, the Aqua Pub.

When older relatives visit the Aqua Pub looks just like a conventional patio dining table with attached stools. However once the sun comes out and the oldies have retired inside you can through the patio set in the pool and you have your own ready made floating bar. It seats six though I guess you’ll have to spread the weight evenly if you don’t want the fattest most muscular person getting all the drinks.

You can get further info at the Aqua Pub site but be warned you may want to turn your speakers off.

A mixing spoon with computer feedback.

April 11th, 2006 by Paz in Kitchen Gadgets

The intelligent mixing spoon.

I managed to get through university without getting past chapter 1 of “Cooking for Blokes” because I couldn’t be bothered to go and buy the extra kitchen utensils necessary to make anything from chapter 2 onwards.

A few years later, I found a dietician who spent a year learning to cook – and I married her. Recently though, it seems to me that all our money goes into the kitchen, one way or another, so I’ve decided I want some of the action!
