ReadywhenUR - SMS Kettle

June 27th, 2006 by Stephen in Drinking Gadgets, Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

SMS KettleI think my dream gadget has just been invented. It’s laziness at its peak! This gadget is called ‘ReadywhenUR’, an ingenious title when I tell you what this thing can do. You send a SMS text to your kettle and it boils. Can you believe it! I’m definitely going to be getting one of these.

Solar Powered Garden Shower

June 27th, 2006 by Al in Garden Gadgets, Solar Powered Gear

Hot Garden Shower

Say you’ve been playing in the garden on a cool inflatable water slide only to discover somebody has been cutting the grass. This means as well as having grass stains on your knees you also have to risk the wrath of the lady of the house when you pad grass clippings through the kitchen. What you need is a shower outside and this is the coolest and hottest outdoor shower I’ve seen!

The Love Cushion

June 27th, 2006 by Stephen in Home Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

Love CushionLove CushionTake a look at this lovely red cushion. Cute isn’t it. But what is it for I hear you ask. Well without going into great detail (because I need to keep this article clean) it’s something for a couple to use at bed time.

I have seen these before and didn’t think much of them but the more I look at the pictures of what it can do, the more I want to try it out. It is used by the female but enhances pleasure for both parties.

Solar Powered Flickering Candles

June 27th, 2006 by Al in Garden Gadgets, Home Automation, Solar Powered Gear

Solar Powered CandleThere’s nothing that new about solar powered lights in the garden but I thought these ones were different enough to be worth a mention, they look like good old fashioned candle lanterns and even have a realistic looking flicker.

As you’d expect the lights are powered by LEDs, a days worth of sunlight will power the light at night for up to 10 hours (all automatic of course). I reckon the flicker will give the lantern a cool look and have your neighbours wondering how you light them every night (okay that might work that one out after the first day).

Available for $29.99 each from Smart Home

Seesaw Sofa

June 26th, 2006 by Al in Garden Gadgets, Home Gadgets

See Saw Sofa

This interesting piece of furniture certainly encourages teamwork. It can seat 2 or 3 people (ideally of similar weights) who have to counter balance each other. Some how I don’t think it will be all that relaxing a seating experience.

Cooking Pizza’s on a BBQ

June 26th, 2006 by Al in Garden Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

BBQ Pizza StoneI do enjoy a good BBQ (even on my DIY barbecue) but my favourite source of vegetables is pizza (hmmmm pizza). Barbecues and pizza don’t normally mix that well which is why I was impressed to see this Grill-Top Pizza Stone.

The Grill-Top Pizza Stone is designed for gas grills but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work on a conventional charcoal BBQ (gas is cheating in my house). You rest the stone on top of the grill, stoke it up to the perfect pizza cooking temperature (as shown on the incorporated thermometer) and cook your meat feast.

Available from Williams Sonoma found on uncrate.

Hidden Infra-Red Receivers

June 26th, 2006 by Al in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Home Automation, Home Gadgets

Hide IR Reciever

My living room is full of electrical equipment, the mandatory wide-screen, DVD player, PS2, cable TV box, PC, etc. Many of essential devices are controlled via remote, which causes a bit of a problem when it’s behind a cabinet door.
