The Easy AeroGarden

July 10th, 2006 by Liam in Home Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Aero GardenAre you too lazy (like me) or too forgetful (like me) to maintain your own garden? Then the AeroGarden may be the perfect thing for you!

The AeroGarden is a completely self-sustaining garden that is 100% organic and requires little maintenance. You don’t need any gardening experience whatsoever, and you don’t need to ever worry about weeding it or cleaning it up. It’s also designed specifically for indoor use as it requires no natural sunlight with its built in plant-lighting system, which you don’t even need to turn on or off because of its computerized timing system.

July 8th, 2006 by Liam in Home Automation, Home Gadgets, Robot Gadgets

Dyson Robotic CleanerToo lazy to take the time to vacuum your house, or just want to confuse your pet? Dyson’s robotic vacuum just might be the thing for you.

Featuring more than 70 sensory devices and three on board computers, this machine is only 5% vacuum, and 95% robotic intelligence. It learns the layout of a room and uses all of its sensors with incredible accuracy to cover every inch of a room without ever repeating a section to ensure that no power is wasted and it doesn’t annoy you, zipping around the house for too long. In fact, it makes 10 decisions per second!

MotoMan RoboBar

July 6th, 2006 by Randal in Home Automation, Robot Gadgets

RoboBar

The shining promise of robotics is that it will eventually free us from all forms of drudgery. It only follows that as technology progresses our definition of what drudgery is will become a sliding scale, a moving target. Have we come so far already as to define the noble pursuit of tending bar “drudgery?” The RoboBar from the Motoman company answers this question with an emphatic “Yes!”

The Worlds Smallest Fire Extinguisher

July 6th, 2006 by Al in Garden Gadgets, Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

Tiny Fire ExtinguisherIf you’re a fan of barbeques, pyromania or both it’s a good idea to have a fire extinguisher at hand (especially if you make it yourself) and this is the smallest one we’ve seen the PinQY.

Despite it’s size it still manages to extinguish small fires and it only takes a tiny fire to start an inferno. So next time you’re having a romantic meal by candle light don’t forget to get your pinkie Pinqy out.

More info and ordering details on the PinQY site, found via Crib Candy.

Sexy Wood Furniture

July 5th, 2006 by Al in Home Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Leg DrawI wouldn’t normally write the words sexy and furniture in the same sentence, but that’s exactly what this post is about Sexy Furniture.

Dutch designer Mario Philippona has a selection of wooden furniture that is carved to the shape of a naked woman’s legs. I’m not sure what sort of person would buy it but what ever floats your boat I suppose.

Personal Computer Robots

July 3rd, 2006 by Randal in Home Automation, PC Gadgets, Tech News

PC Robot

White Box Robotics is gearing up for their first production run of
“personal computer robots.” They have neatly sidestepped the inevitable
question associated with home robots. No matter how cute the gyrations
or how engaging the “blips” and “bleeps” comes that dreaded pause, and
then:

“So, what does it do?”
