This Tea Picked By A Bunch Of Monkeys…Seriously!

January 9th, 2008 by Carolyn in Cooking Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

monkey-tea.jpgNow I enjoy a good cup of tea, I even have teapots and loose leaf to put into my ingenuiTEA pot from Adagio Tea (which is an awesome gadget in its own right!). But there are just some things that defy reason but you can’t help but love.

A prime example of this is the Monkey Picked Tea being sold over at ThinkGeek. There is a legend that says that over ten centuries ago, upon seeing his master pick tea leaves, a monkey climbed up and collected the leaves and brought them down for his master. Whether it be legend or simply a cheaper form of labor, the story has turned into a rare product that you can purchase and enjoy.

Monkey Picked Tea is a rare tea that is carefully picked by specially trained monkeys in a remote mountain region of China. It is claimed that none of the monkeys are mistreated or harmed in this process. They say that the monkeys are treated as respected members of their family. R.P.M. Blender with tachometer

January 2nd, 2008 by Edwin in Kitchen Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets

tacho-blender.jpgL’Equip’s R.P.M. Blender is definitely cute, boasting a tachometer on the side. It kinda reminds all motorheads of their purring engines lying in the garage as they prepare dinner for the family. The R.P.M. Blender is powered by a 900-watt motor which is capable of spinning up to 20,000 revolutions per minute - that’s way higher than what our cars can achieve, although one results in global warming while the other gives you a healthy mish mash of fruits and veggies (or whatever you’re currently blending). The R.P.M. Blender retails for $134 each.

Big Screw Drinks Opener

December 24th, 2007 by Edwin in Drinking Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets, Home Gadgets

bigscrew.jpgMake your Christmas parties all the merrier without being thwarted by a stubborn cork with the Big Screw Drinks Opener.

The Big Screw, is not actually very big, and come to think of it, it isn’t a screw either, though if it were a screw, it would be big, as screws go. We may have laboured the point somewhat. Size aside, the little Big Screw is an ingenious piece of dipsomaniac design. Whilst we often have something on us to open a beer bottle (even if it’s our teeth), getting into a bottle of wine without a corkscrew is a whole different ball game. This stylish little key ring will of course open beer and pop bottles (thus saving your gnashers from a horrible fate), but it also conceals a corkscrew, so access to wine is no longer an issue. Of course it also looks deeply stylish, tooled as it is from stainless steel, and coming with a tough fob ring and rather natty tag. Never be beaten by a wine bottle again!

This nifty little kitchen gadget can be yours for £9.99.

Electric Dustpan sucks … and that’s a good thing

December 23rd, 2007 by James in Home Automation, Kitchen Gadgets, Home Gadgets

Eye Vac

It’s called the Eye Vac. What else? Isn’t any cool gadget starting with the “I”/”Eye”moniker these days? Weighing in at a hefty 13 lbs. and standing nearly 21” tall, the Eye Vac isn’t to be picked up, but rather it sits in a neutral area and just waits for the sweeper to bring the dit to it. And that’s the great thing about this $80 gadget it sucks. It really sucks!
