Electric Jar Opener

December 8th, 2005 by Anita in Kitchen Gadgets

electricjaropener
I don’t know about the other ladies out there, but I get real tired of asking the man of the house to open jars for me. I tried several different gimmicks to open them such as holding under hot water, holding it with a towel, and trying all kinds of gadgets to open them and nothing worked. I always wondered when someone would come up with a gadget that would help us open up these stubborn jars short of dynamite.

Well, Black and Decker finally heard our pleas and created an electric jar opener. Now, you can open any type of jar with only one hand and a touch of a button to open every lid in your house. No more yelling to your husband, “Honey, would you please open this for me?” You can now be just a bit more independent and not have to rely on a strong man to open jars, unless you just want him to feel macho.

If you are looking for a healthier and easier way to cook a great tasting hot dog then you should try the Pop-Up Hotdog Cooker. It is so easy small children can make their own hotdogs. You never have to worry about getting the grill the ready, over-cooking in the microwave, or have a regular old boiled hot dog again.

If you love toasted buns for your hot dogs then you will even love this Pop-Up Hotdog Cooker even more. You can cook two hot dogs and toast the buns at the same exact time and enjoy each and every bite. The best part is it only takes a few minutes to prepare.

All you have to do is drop your favorite hot dogs into the center basket and then place the buns in the two toasting baskets on either side of the center basket. In just a few minutes, your hotdogs and buns will pop up just like a toaster.

Touchless Trashcan

November 26th, 2005 by Anita in Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

trashcan
How many of us would love to have a trashcan that automatically opens when you need it. With the touchless trashcan you will never have to touch that dirty trashcan again and can throw away your eggshells and go right back to cooking.

I am a fanatic when it comes to washing my hands while I am cooking and when I have to keep touching the trashcan to throw things away that always doubles the time I spend washing my hands. With the touchless trashcan, I do not have to wash my hands quite as often as before.

The touchless trashcan has a built in artificial intelligent smart chip that knows the exact time to open and close so you never have to touch that dirty trash can again until it is full or time to take it out. It uses an invisible harmless infrared beam that when you hold your hand or trash within 6 inches of the lid and it will open up so you can discard the waste. It closes within 3 seconds of the time that you move your hand away.

cookbookholder

The holidays are coming once again, and it is time to get out all the cookbooks and recipes that you have for all the treats that you will prepare. If you are anything like most people that start preparing for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner you have more than one cookbook open and are fixing more than one thing at a time. The problem comes in when you need to check the recipe and the book has closed on you again. You already have a mess going with eggs, sugar, spices, measuring utensils, pots and pans that you do not have the time to keep finding the recipe. This is where the Acrylic Cookbook holder comes in.

Mop Slippers

October 31st, 2005 by Anita in Kitchen Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

slippers

Are you real tired of cleaning the floor after each and every person in your family walks across the floor with muddy feet? Well, then you should get every one a pair of mop slippers. Just put a pair for every member of your family by the front and back door and then have them remove their shoes and place on the mop slippers. This will stop the mud and dirt from messing up your clean floor and wherever they walk, they will be dry mopping as well.

Why should it be that mom is the only one that must mop and clean the floor up after everyone else? It doesn’t have to be that way any more. Just have a bunch of mop slippers around. Then all you will have to do is the laundry.

Super Fridge

October 14th, 2005 by Damian in Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

Super Fridge
The final product that I’ll be covering in IBM’s Smart Kitchen is their Super Fridge. I’m not sure the actual name that IBM gave this fridge, but Super Fridge is just the nickname I use to describe it, because to be honest I think it could kick the crap out of my refrigerator.

The Super Fridge has a list that tells you exactly what is inside your refrigerator. There is a little display monitor where you can check the inventory in your refrigerator. IBM states this saves you time. I have to disagree. I mean, sure you could click through the little menu and select meat then hot dogs and see that there are exactly 3 franks left. I’m guessing this would take about 5.8 seconds. There’s no actual benchmark for this. It’s just a number I made up. Being the investigative reporter I am, I decided to time how long it would take me to actually open up my fridge, open up the meat compartment, look at what’s in there, and close the door, using a stopwatch.
