Flavoured Water From the Tap

September 12th, 2007 by Sam in Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

Getting your 8 daily glasses of water can be a bit of a chore (and is there anything more boring than water!) However, with this neat little device, you can add a little flavour to your “eau” (either strawberry, raspberry or peach).

Wall-Mounted Digital Scale And Clock

September 10th, 2007 by Sam in Kitchen Gadgets

scale.jpg
This is a brill idea and, yet again, so simple! The usual type of kitchen scales are generally quite bulky and take up a fair amount of space on the worktop, so by being able to hang it up when you’ve done, thereby freeing up valuable work area, is great.

Jamie Oliver Survival Kit

September 9th, 2007 by Sam in Kitchen Gadgets

pan-set.jpg

It’s just about time to be heading off to “big school”, otherwise known as University. Perhaps this’ll be your first time away from the servants (by which of course I mean mum and dad), and you may have to fend for yourself in the kitchen for the first time. With Jamie Oliver’s Survival Kit by Tefal, consisting of 3 non-stick cooking pans (26cm frying pan, 26cm wok/casserole dish and 20cm saucepan) with two lids (26cm and 20cm) plus a detachable handle, you can have fun cooking your first experimental meals on your own.

Wine Cooler Fridge Freezer

September 9th, 2007 by Sam in Kitchen Gadgets

fridge-freezer.jpg
We are currently in the process of trying to find a side by side fridge freezer for our newly fitted kitchen and I think this might just be the one! Particularly as it has the anti-fingerprint finish which is an absolute necessity when you have the “little people” visiting (I’m not being size-ist ; just referring to my nephews and 10 year old daughter … oh and my mother as well, standing at just under 5ft tall!). I have been known to wander around electrical appliance retailers randomly placing my hands all over their fridges and freezers to see if I leave any marks!

CTV 4845 brings entertainment to your kitchen

September 8th, 2007 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

kitchen-dvd-player.jpg

Even moms need a break - so why not consider the CTV 4845 from AEG that was recently unveiled at IFA 2007 in Berlin? This 7″ LCD display can actually be integrated into your kitchen hood, enabling you to watch your favorite movie while whipping something on the stove for the rest of the family. I’m just not too sure how oil and sensitive electronics like this would fare in the kitchen environment though. You’d best be prepared to wipe oil off the LCD display constantly in order to view crisp images at all times.

Hillary loves cracking nuts

September 8th, 2007 by Edwin in Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

hillarynutcracker.jpg

Since Christmas will sneak up upon us before we know it, why not prepare yourself with this Hillary Nutcracker?

Love her or hate… you’ll have nonstop fun cracking nuts with Hillary. Regardless of your affiliation (Republican or Democrat) you’ve just found your new favorite kitchen tool! Her stainless steel thigh teeth will pulverize any nut that stands in her way to the Whitehouse.

I wonder what Bill thinks about his wife having thighs of steel. Hopefully he didn’t suffer from too harsh a fallout after his “momentary lapse of concentration”. Definitely a conversation starter for this upcoming holiday season (or any other time for that matter). $29.99 from Perpetual Kid.

Digital Hour Glass - a Cool Kitchen Timer

September 7th, 2007 by Al in Electronic Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

Polder Digital Hourglass Kitchen Timer

I wrote about the Digital Hour Glass watch earlier this year, it was very cool but only a concept. I’ve just come across a digital hour glass that’s available to buy, appropriately enough it’s for the kitchen.

This Polder Digital Hourglass Kitchen Timer has a wonderful shape and design so that any cook can put it on the kitchen counter when not in use. The timer can be flipped over to change between clock and timer functions. It has a 100 minute timer and stopwatch. A great gift idea!

I must admit it doesn’t look as sexy as the hour glass watch but it’s still pretty cool and actually available. You can get the digial hour glass timer from Amazon for $15.

Holland Electro Wave TV

September 5th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

wave-microwave-tv.jpgTalk about a TV dinner - the Holland Electro Wave TV has just been unveiled at IFA 2007, marrying both a TV and a microwave together in a single device. While this idea might seem cool at first, it isn’t really too wise to do so as one device tends to get obsolete before the other. Anyway, for $680 you probably could purchase these devices individually without having them joined together. Essentially, the Wave is a 23 liter microwave oven with an integrated TFT screen and DVD player built right inside. Heck, it even comes with memory card slots that cater to SD, MMC, and MS media.
