It almost seems like manufacturers are getting desperate to sell their kitchen scales.  Lately there have been many kitchen scales that try to have a twist to make them more appealing to the general public.  Well if you use yours a lot, this one will let you listen to you music.  At least with this you can combine your iPod dock with a kitchen scale instead of having two different gadgets cluttering up your countertop.

This Rihanna model isn’t released just yet, but is soon to be sold.  Apparently this kitchen scale is supposed to be the absolute first that does include an iPod dock directly on it.  The dock and scale combo are predicted to release early next year.  On the device itself the dock is directly above the 42.5 x 20 mm LCD display.  Below the safety glass surface is the 2-watt speaker.  When it is released it’ll cost you €70 or about $150 through ADE Germany.

Beaba Babycook is a baby sized food processor for making your own babyfood.

I remember when our boy was first born, I reeled over the cost of baby food. But what can you do, they have you over a barrel as a concerned parent isn’t about to strike out on their own to make pureed food for their child’s sensitive stomachs. Or are they? I have to admit, I would’ve tried the Beaba BabyCook.

The Beaba Babycook is designed to make food for babies aged six months to two years and is a typical countertop device that looks like a food processor. And that’s precisely what it is. It also can connect to the internet over the Ethernet or Wifi, and the user can even subscribe to monthly updates for lots more recipes. There is also a meal planner and a shopping list maker that will also help before the cooking. It doesn’t have an Internet Browser, but it can be used to update recipes, get weather information, internet radio stations, and can also be used as a digital picture frame.

Now the QOOQ has a 10.2 inch touchscreen and an onscreen keyboard, but you are probably wondering if you want something like that in the kitchen with sauces that boil over and all that kitchen mess that you have to wipe off daily. It’s an age old problem, isn’t it? We just can’t get our toast done right. However, this concept toaster uses two panes of glass to toast the bread, so you can see if it is done right.

By the way, the designer of this product ran into a simple problem. Apparently, you can’t heat the glass enough to toast bread. Don’t ask me how that can be improved.

However, it is a definite toaster of the future, isn’t it? It feels like something Tom Cruise would have had in his apartment in Minority Report, if not for that dial. Maybe this thing could have a touchscreen when it finally gets out to the market.

Even if you do use a kitchen scale on a fairly regular basis, it’s doubtful that you use it constantly.  Which means it either goes to one of those deep dark cabinets or sits on the counter and gets in the way.  Well instead of trying to decide where is best to store the scale while it’s not in use, you could pick up this 2 in 1 kitchen scale.  It’s made to hang on your wall and when you don’t need a scale, it functions just fine as an average wall clock.

We’ve all had those days when your hands are full and you need to turn on the faucet.  It likely happens much more to parents with little ones.  Trying to balance a baby on the hip while needing to turn on the water.  It’s of course possible to pull off the task.  However, it’d be far easier to do it with this Pilar faucet.  Instead of having to turn a handle, all you have to do is touch the faucet and it kicks on immediately.

Alright, so I’m aware it’s a touch on the strange side to put a light inside of a bright orange cheese grater.  However, being a person who has a tendency to wander the house at night, it’s always nice to have a dim light going in the kitchen.  Then if you’re going to keep a light in the kitchen, you might as well make it a light that looks like it belongs in the kitchen.

It does make sense, but I realize that it does take a little extra work to justify it.  What doesn’t really help matters any is the price.  After all, one could pick up a light, a cheese grater and some orange spray paint and do the job themselves.  Items that could easily enough be done on your own always are more difficult to stomach the price tag.  This isn’t helping matters any though by costing you £29.00 or about $47.  It’s not a horrifying price, but it still seems like a bit much.  You can find yourself one of these cute lamps through The Conran Shop.
