Nintendo DS an E-book reader?

by Mark R

Considering that e-book readers are practically a standard feature with most Portable Media Players, it is no surprise that the versatile Nintendo DS is trying to get in on the action.

I’m not saying that all Nintendo DS devices will be e-book readers, but HarperCollins has worked with Nintendo to create the Collins Pocket Classic series in e-book form for the famed portable gaming system.

The Collins Pocket Classic series include such great works of literature including Sherlock Holmes, Pride and Prejudice, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and more. HarperCollins has also commissioned new introductions for each book, as well as its author.

Logitech G13 Advanced Gaming Keyboard

by Mark R

Take Darth Vader’s head, mix it with the buttons on his chest, and then merge them into one gadget. The result would be the Logitech G13 Advanced Gaming Keyboard.

Actually, Logitech reveals in a recent Press Release that the G13 is really a combination of the Logitech G15 keyboard and G9 Laser Mouse. In this same release, the company promises that the G13 is a more superior model than other gaming keyboards.

“Unlike other gameboards that focus only on programmability, the G13 advanced gameboard incorporates the principles of our award winning Comfort Wave design…the G13 gameboard gives you a powerful advantage over those forced to work with less.”

by Edwin

3DiJoy Technologies is a name not well known to many, but the company is the brain behind a fair number of sophisticated PC-based, motion-sensitive video game solutions and 3D video games. With a little bit more light shed on their background, perhaps we can look at their latest product with more of an open mind without bringing up a mention of Nintendo’s best selling console for this generation. In fact, 3DiJoy Technologies will begin to ship the new FlingPC-branded video game solution in time for Santa and his little helpers to shove these down chimneys of those who are interested during this Yuletide season.

Have fun saving with the Arcade piggy bank

by Edwin

Saving money is never fun, especially when that could be used to fill up your current impulses to purchase items you don’t need so that people you don’t like can be impressed. Well, here’s a better way to save – a carrot on the stick, if you will, with the Arcade piggy bank that features Tetris or Atari Breakout. These games used to cost quarter after quarter in the local arcades a few decades ago, but this time round, you not only get to have an opportunity to obtain a high score, but save money in the process. Choose from black or white colors, as each Arcade piggy bank will cost around $39.90 after conversion.

Red ring of death? No problem if Santa bought it at Sam’s Club.

by James

The “red ring of death.” It’s three flashing red lights that are every Xbox gamers worst nightmare. It’s an all too common tale of woe told by XBox 360 owners after they’ve experienced a hardware failure on their gaming rig. One that there’s little return from. Sure, there are home brewed solutions that involve towels, long duration operation wrapped like a burrito, and more. But they’re usually short lived solutions. This is largely due to excessive gaming that causes the Xbox to overheat to the point of total failure. But what it truly amounts to is, that the Xbox 360 runs too hot. And in some cases, down right defective workmanship has cut the life of this premiere game box short. And a users only choice is to send it back to Redmond Washington for a very costly repair. Unless, that is, Santa got your 360 at Sam’s Club. Then, it’s your lucky holiday.

Fanatec Porsche 911 Carrera Racing Wheel for PS3 and PC

by Edwin

There is just something about men and sports, how the former loves the latter to the death up to a point where even though the missus needs some help, pronto, around the home, he will just sit in his La-Z-Boy chair while enjoying the game. Motorsports also has a large following, since this adrenaline pumping spectator sport allows us to escape into a world where speed wins, and there are enough thrills and spills in each race to keep the excitement level up at all times. There are bound to be moments when we think that we’re good enough to enter the NASCAR or Formula 1 circuit, but sadly, reality bites. Well, good thing there is this thing called computer games, and technology has advanced to such a point where you’ll be able to get a pretty realistic look and feel of how car racing works in the comfort of your home, and with peripherals like Fanatec’s Porsche 911 Carrera Racing Wheel for PS3 and PC, you won’t come away with a bitter taste in your mouth where hardware is concerned.

Dell releases new Intel Core i7-powered gaming systems

by Edwin

Dell isn’t exactly famous for their line of gaming computers, although they do have the Alienware brand to handle that aspect for consumers. This time round, they have endowed their Alienware line with Intel’s latest offering – the Core i7 processor range which tout to offer unprecedented speed and performance across three new extreme gaming desktops – the Alienware Area-51 X-58, Alienware Area-51 ALX X-58 and the Dell XPS 730x. All three dynamic systems are miles ahead of what is being sold today by Dell, since the Intel Core i7 processor is capable of generating by far a greater number of instructions per clock cycle, enhancing the systems’ simultaneous processing capabilities. This means improved physics, greater environmental interactivity, more intelligent AI and an overall boost in the immersive, real-to-life experience for gamers, although casual ones might not notice the difference, the hardcore crowd will be more than pleased.

MeWe World announces SlideSlinger Wii Gun

by Edwin

With the Nintendo Wii leading the way for home console sales this generation, it makes perfect sense that there is a higher chance of selling more peripherals on that system compared to the Xbox 360 or PS3. MeWe World sees the wisdom behind that, having released the SlideSlinger Wii Gun that is considered to be an essential tool to have in games such as the Wii Play mini game ensemble. It holds the Wii remote snugly and easily, providing an accurate shooting and gaming experience.

Compared to older Wii accessory guns, the SlideSlinger is smaller with an ergonomically designed rounded handle, padded handgrip and low resistance trigger for fast firing and reduced finger fatigue. Made from lightweight, durable, high impact ABS construction, the SlideSlinger fits comfortably in the hands of men, women and children. A clever internal cord winding design allows simple integration of the Nunchuk controller with connectivity at the bottom of the handgrip, keeping cords out of the way while playing.

You can pick up the SlideSlinger Wii Gun for $14.95 a pop.
