So you love Pac-Man and retro games, you enjoyed the pizza version we showed you yesterday and the Pac-Man costume, now how about a live Pac-Man performance? This video was made in the 80’s for the Japanese comic show Oretachi Hyokin-Zoku.
Frag like a man on the PS3 with the FragFX
March 22nd, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Gadgets
Home consoles aren’t exactly the most conducive environment to play a first person shooter, no thanks to clunky controls despite having two analog sticks to thumb around with. Until today, there is no thing more natural to playing a FPS than using a keyboard and the mouse, but SplitFish GameWare aims to level the playing field by offering the patent pending FragFX controller which consists of a separate right hand mouse controller and a detachable left hand grip controller. Granted, this solution isn’t as comfortable as the computer’s setup, but at least it offers a greater degree of freedom to the discerning gamer and makes those of us who fumble with analog sticks smile.
Retro Games In Stop Motion
March 21st, 2007 by methodshop in Gaming Gadgets
Pes from EatPES.com frequently makes stop motion short films and commercials, but their latest work titled “Game Over” is a masterpiece.
Game Over is a medley of several 1980s arcade games including a stop motion version of Centipede done with cup cakes and a pizza and pillow case version of Pac-Man. Seriously, it’s great stuff and will be one of the easiest 5 star ratings you’ve ever given to a Youtube video.
If you get a chance, head over to Pes’ site and watch some of the other stuff. I recommend the Bacardi commercial. Amazing work.

Let your fingers do the dancing
March 18th, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Gadgets, Toys
You know how people loved the Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) craze many years ago? Arcades that carried this rhythm-based game were packed to the nines, and some folk even discovered their innate ability to take on two DDR dance pads all by themselves, as if they were the spawn of Kraken itself. Here’s a device that will definitely take your mind off stress at work, offering a brief respite from those Monday morning blues by letting your fingers do the dancing instead. The USB Finger Dance Mat has been shrunk to a size smaller than your mousepad, and it comes with a finger puppet for a more authentic Saturday Night Fever experience at your desktop.

The Sudokube is going to be a sure shot with fans of the old Rubik’s cube and Sudoku, and will allow you to play anywhere you want to.
Subliminal message to curb gaming addiction
March 15th, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Gadgets, PC Gadgets
Gaming can be quite the addiction for many - just take a look at how many kids these days go outdoors and engage in some physical activity when they would rather stay at home cooped up during summer, leveling up their World of Warcraft character instead? The Korea Times has word that a company successfully developed an inaudible sound sequence which could actually help hardcore online gamers take a break from their marathon gaming sessions. After all, there has been cases of people dying after laying a game for too long without taking enough breaks or sleep in between. The Xtive company hopes such incidents won’t occur in the future with their invention.
Sony working on PSP redesign
March 14th, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Gadgets, Toys
Looks like Sony will finally follow the pace set by Nintendo when it comes to hardware redesign, with SCE U.K. Managing Director Ray Maguire sharing his thoughts on a new PSP design. Granted, both the PSOne and PS2 came in new looks towards the end of their lives, so could this mean the same thing with the PSP refresh? While we might not know anything about the release date or pricing details (keep your fingers crossed for a price drop! $250 is still too expensive for a handheld console, and at that price you can already pick up a Nintendo Wii), we do know that Sony will retain what is arguably the PSP’s greatest strength - its large and brilliant screen.
