Sony’s latest Converter Cable Adaptor for the PSPgo was concocted so that it is able to maximize the use of existing peripherals for the PSP-1000, 2000 and 3000 series in the new PSPgo system, where the latter will adopt the Multi use connector instead. The Converter Cable Adaptor will arrive in Japan this December 24th, while folks who live outside of the Land of the Rising Sun won’t be able to get theirs until after Christmas (bummer!) as it ought to hit markets including North America, Europe/PAL territories and Asian regions in January next year.

September 24th, 2009 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets
Sony has your PSPgo’s best interest at heart by announcing that it will roll out its latest Bluetooth Stereo Headset receiver this Christmas Eve in Japan, although folks living in North America, Europe/PAL territories and Asian regions will have to wait until January 2010 to get their hands on it. Something tells me that import stores will make sure those arrive in time for some frantic last minute Christmas shopping outside of Japan, but I could be wrong. Here’s what the Sony Bluetooth Stereo Headset receiver is all about.
With a sleek design that matches perfectly with PSPgo, users will be able to enjoy a variety of entertainment content sounds comfortably through the Bluetooth wireless technology with the combination of a commercially available head-phone and head-set (head-set not included). The Bluetooth Stereo Head-set Receiver pairs easily with PSPgo by simply holding the power button of the Receiver, and operation buttons on the Receiver will also enable users to instantly play, stop, pause, forward, rewind, and adjust the volume of music and videos. Additionally, the receiver can be paired with up to eight Bluetooth devices by using the Multi Pairing Feature.
There is no word on pricing, but it ought to last for up to 6 hours of continuous talktime when used.
Audiovox offers rear-seat entertainment with PS2

Holidays in the form of road trips can be fun if they’re well planned and if you happen to have generally well behaved passengers and a loving co-pilot who won’t get upset at you even though you don’t want to stop and ask for directions, preferring instead to rely on your navigational instincts (or rather, the lack of it), especially after the GPS system has died due to the lack of battery power. Audiovox could come in handy to defer the dreaded question, “Are we there yet?” for the umpteenth time by your once-bundles of joy in the back seat, thanks to their VOD10PS2 Mobile Video PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system.
Motion Controller for PS3 coming next spring
September 24th, 2009 by Edwin in Gaming Gadgets
Sony has seen the wisdom behind Nintendo’s motion control system that is employed in the Wii, helping an inferior hardware platform to achieve dominance in terms of sales across the globe due to its once-labelled “gimmicky” waggle controls. Well, they recently announced that they too, will be jumping aboard the motion control bandwagon in the near future with what looks like a simple microphone, and today we have confirmation from Sony Computer Entertainment that they will be rolling out a new Motion Controller for the PS3 as early as spring next year. Bear in mind the name Motion Controller is a temporary one as the boffins at Sony have yet to decide on a permanent name for this.
MaruBot Football League better than soccer video game
September 22nd, 2009 by Mark R in Gaming Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Sport, Toys
Just when I am still reeling after Space Foosball, another electronic tabletop game that requires the player to stand comes my way.
Introducing MaruBot Football League, a new way of playing soccer on the table. As you can see, miniature robots rest safely under glass, and it is up to the four players (two on one team, two on the other) to control them.
These players are moved by joystick controls, and their goal is to make goals. Oddly enough, these robots have LEDs in their eyes that indicate emotions. So if the other team scores a goal, they look flat and sad. If you make a goal, the eyes look wide and happy. Check out a mini photo gallery after the jump to see for yourself.
Space Foosball makes popular stand up game digital
September 22nd, 2009 by Mark R in Conceptual Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets
Every time I think the word “foosball”, what comes to mind are semi-pleasant memories from Junior High School. Our lunchroom had about four of these tables out, and each of them had at least one player missing.
It would appear that no game is out of the digital realm as the Ewha Women’s University has created Space Foosball. As you can see from the picture, all the men are rendered in CG, so there is no chance of them breaking off after too much playing.
The handles are made with infrared sensors so they will move out, in, and spin as the user reacts. I would imagine the program would keep track of the force exerted on the ball, so it would know how much to rebound. You can watch the video after the jump for some virtual foosball action.
Wii Football Accessory
September 20th, 2009 by Al in Gaming Gadgets
If you thought that it was bad when the Wii first came out, just think how TVs will do with this Wii accessory around. It’s like they’re just begging you to chuck something through your TV. I’ll bet this was secretly created by a company that makes televisions, it could happen. Well this accessory not only will tempt you to break your TV, but might make your favorite football games just a little more fun for you.
Huge Tetris stick
September 18th, 2009 by Edwin in Gaming GadgetsNow here’s something that ought to attract all of you gamers, especially those who grew up on a healthy dose of Tetris. This arcade cabinet is not ordinary in any way, where it comes with a gigantic joystick to help you navigate those bricks into place so that you can make a feeble attempt at breaking the high score. We wonder how many quarters you are willing to part with just to get a feel of what a really huge stick is like…
