Poolside Golf

May 11th, 2007 by Al in Gaming Gadgets, Golf Gadgets

Pool golf

We do seem to feature quite a few pool gadgets and golf gizmos and this next product combines the two, Pro-Chip Island Golf.

To play the game simply float the island in your pool and then try to chip the balls onto the green. As each ball has a velcro cross they should stick to the float rather than bouncing off into the water. It comes complete with 12 balls which should minimize the time you need to go paddling on ball retrieval duties (or the bumber of times you push the kids in the pool and tell them to “Go fetch”).

The full kit (minus golf club) costs $49.95 from Solutions.

Graphics card in a box

May 10th, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Gadgets, PC Gadgets

magma-expressbox.jpgAsk any self respecting gamer as to why they’d prefer to get their gaming fix on the desktop and you’ll get the same answer - superior performance in every sense of the word. Desktop computers have much more horsepower, and when it comes to games, you can’t really argue with a top end video card which is far too large to squeeze into a standard laptop design. Magma has decided to do something about this situation, offering an easy to use device which enables your notebook to experience the joys and wonder of a desktop-only PCI Express card. Known as the ExpressBox1, this device looks very much like an external drive enclosure save the fact that is was specifically designed to hold a PCI-E video card.

Trey Chair offers a whole new seating experience

May 9th, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Gadgets, Home Gadgets

trey-chair.jpg

Is an office chair just an office chair? Well, it might be if you’re a regular office boffin who does nothing else but sit in front of the computer all day long. For gamers, things are mighty different. There are gamer keyboards, gamer mice, gamer laptops, and gamer video cards. A gamer chair is definitely not out of the question, as evident by the Trey Chair. This unique chair looks like your everyday swivel chair at first glance, but just like Superman, you can transform it into a rocking chair complete with rails for balance, a side table, footrest, or even an extra set in the blink of an eye! This is made possible by flipping the latch attached to the Trey Chair.

Bringing back those good old games

May 7th, 2007 by David in Gaming Gadgets

plezo

With the advances in games machines like the PS3, Xbox and Wii, games have taken on a different meaning, they are more complex, I suppose the Wii could be considered slightly retro, but games in general like GTA and other similar titles have moved on, the graphics are second to none and the game play itself it far removed from those that we saw and heard, when the gaming industry was in its infancy, remember the Sega system!

HP Pavilion HDX brings gaming standards to notebook

May 7th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets, PC Gadgets

hp-pavilion-hdx.jpg

Buying a computer is definitely not an impulse purchase, and when it comes to the issue of notebooks, you definitely have a fairly large amount of selections to choose from. HP has bought the Voodoo PC outfit last year, and you can finally see the results of their acquisition which ought to be released sometime later this year in the form of the HP Pavilion HDX gaming and entertainment notebook. You can definitely tell that the Pavilion HDX is a true blue gaming machine from first glance since no sane business-class notebook will come with a 20″ display in the first place.

Guitar Hero II is awesome

May 4th, 2007 by Mike in Gaming Gadgets

Guitar Hero II
Personally, I’m not a big gamer at all. I rarely, if ever, play any games on my Mac (as if there were any, haha!) and will occasionally play for a few minutes on my DS or PSP. That being said, I am absolutely, positively addicted to Guitar Hero II on the PS2 (also on Xbox 360, but I don’t own it). If you’ve never heard of it, read on, as I’m going to tell you why it’s, well, awesome.

Move over PS3, PS4 is coming your way

May 4th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets

ps4.jpg

We all know that the Sony PS3 has just been released for less than a year to date, but plenty has already been written about this next gen (now current gen) console, ranging from the amazing value it packs thanks to the Blu-ray drive and technology inside to the exorbitant cost of a black and hot paperweight that pushes new technology to consumers whether they want them or not. What most of us are not prepared for would be any announcement of a new PlayStation console anytime soon, since that would be suicide for a company that is already experiencing enough troubles as it is on the gaming front.
