Dancetown Fitness System

by Edwin

dancetown.jpgThe Dancetown Fitness System is a brand new revolutionary fitness system that brings together the benefits of dance as well as physical exercise (sounds like the Wii in some ways, eh?) in the form of a computer game. Now now, where have we heard of such an idea before? This unique fitness system aims to transform fitness and wellness in the adult segment, in particular targeting the senior living industry. The Dancetown Fitness System touts to improve quality of life for adults by giving them a fresh outlook on health and a compelling, enjoyable reason to exercise. And I thought that living longer is more than enough reason to go out there and sweat.

DSVision to bring books and music to your Nintendo DS

by Chris

DSVision

If you’re like me, your Nintendo DS goes just about everywhere with you. It comes in handy during those periods of downtime that are inevitable in everyday life. I’ve wished for some time that it could do more than just play games. Sure, there is an adapter that allows you to surf the net over a wireless connection, but that’s about it. That is unless you live in Japan. Over there they currently have a TV tuner, and soon a new alternative.

Asus announces new USB wireless adapter

by Chris

Asus wireless adapter

Most laptops made within the last several years come with a built-in wireless adapter. This is great because open WiFi networks are becoming increasingly popular at coffee shops and other public places. The alternative to having an internal wireless solution is to use either a PCMCIA card, or a small USB adapter that sticks out of your notebook like a sore thumb. While your options may not be the greatest, Asus has a new offering that you won’t be embarrassed to show off.

Season’s Readings Scrolling Decoration

Season’s Readings

Since we are in December, it is officially the Christmas season. If you haven’t already put up your Christmas tree yet, you might want to purchase the Season’s Readings from Baron Bob.

The Season’s Readings is an ornament that has a light and a spinning motor so there is a message spinning as long as the button on top is pushed. Included in the Season’s Readings are 8 special messages such as Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Joy to the World, even Feliz Navidad.

The Season’s Readings is powered by 4 AA non-included batteries that fit in a little housing that is shaped like a present. The batteries connect with a small wire, then the ornament can be hung on the tree.

Stylophone – modern update to old instrument

by Edwin

stylophone.jpgLooks like a 40-year old musical gadget has been given a modern facelift, and is now known as the Stylophone for obvious reasons.

You tap the electronic keys with the integral stylus to make funky noises – now with additional Classic, Synth and Bass sounds, – and maybe you can produce some musical hits using this retro kit as the likes of Kraftwerk, Erasure, Orbital, Marilyn Manson, They Might Be Giants, and White Stripes have done in the past. You can play solo, or plug in your iPod/MP3 player and play along to your favourite tunes, and even add some vibrato enhancement to really annoy anyone foolish enough to be listening to you. It may have been invented in 1967, but 40 years on this re-invention is bound to be another hit.

The Stylophone retails for £14.99 and makes an affordable gift this holiday season for the music fan in your home.

Eye Power promises better eyesight in just 10 minutes

by Chris

Eye Power

I’ve been blessed with 20/20 vision, and thus have never been forced to either wear glasses or contacts. Knowing my knack for misplacing common items, I would likely never survive with the need for glasses. My best bet would be to save up the cash for Lasik eye surgery, or purchase Eye Power.

Media player thinks it’s a 12MP camera

by James

12 MP Camera/PMP

This is off the hook. PMP Today has a story about a personal media player (PMP) which incorporates a 12 megapixel camera into it’s design. Made Chinese conglom Newman-Hyun , the L1200 PMP has an 8X digital zoom (I guess it was too much to ask for an optical solution) and a “lens” that rotates up to 180 degrees. It has shutter speeds ranging from 1 / 10 to 1 / 2000 second and has presets for “ leaflets,” and multiple sequential shooting. But what is really cool is that according to the translation of the Chinese site, the L1200 can also connect to a TV and actually record directly to the unit.
