Netgear’s Digital Entertainer HD EVA8000 has been around for quite some time already, and has been up for sale approximately a month back. What makes this device an essential addition to anyone who loves tinkering around with home entertainment systems? For starters, this well designed box can be hooked up to your home’s network via Ethernet or WiFi, and it will automatically get to work, searching through your computer for all multimedia files available, be they audio or video formats. These meida files can then be played back on your TV in high definition via the HDMI connection. This means you ought to have a HD-ready TV in your living room if you are to take full advantage of the EVA8000.

NicStic offers smokeless ciggies

March 16th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets

nicstic.jpgOne of the main things non-smokers hate about cigarettes is the smoke as a by-product, but will this stigma remain even if a smokeless cigarette was invented? The NicStic is an interesting device that enables smokers to have a puff, minus the smoke. This cigarette-sized plastic tube comes with a rechargeable heating coil within which vaporizes tobacco instead of taking the traditional burning route. All you need to do is insert a filter at the end of the tube, and you’ll be able to get your daily nicotine fix minus the smoke. Since you don’t inhale any smoke, that means your lungs will appreciate the fact that it has stopped receiving any more tar, arsenic, cadmium, formaldehyde and a zillion other toxic chemicals.

March 13th, 2007 by Tiago in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets, USB Gadgets

Bou-Kun USB Keys

Akihabara is a neighborhood in Japan, more exactly in Tokyo. It is popular for the big shopping scenes that offer everything you can imagine in the electronic world such as computers, digital cameras, mobile phones, mp3 players, and so on. This post is to present you some of that Asian technology, not that it matters much (actually it does), but the problem was that I couldn’t find anything better to write about.

So here you have the latest products on the Akihabara universe:

Bou-Kun USB Keys

  • These USB pens were designed by a popular Japanese artist and made by Sollid Alliance
  • The name Bon-Kun means Mr. Stick

Play List jacket for iPod lovers

March 13th, 2007 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets

bagir-jacket.jpgiPods have long been the portable music player of choice for millions across the globe for quite some time now, and it becomes obvious that a wide demographic uses Apple’s most widespread device on a daily basis. Users range from students to young working adults and even aged grandparents, but out of these groups, it is the working adults who might find the iPod’s design to be a little out of place especially when paired up with their blazer. Having unsightly wires hanging from the suit or a bulge definitely won’t win you any points with your clients, which is why tailored clothing specialist Bagir has come up with the aptly named Play List Jacket.

March 12th, 2007 by Tiago in Childrens Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets

The Superior Baby Monitor

Just the other day I was looking for baby monitors because I am going to be a dad soon (just kidding, I had to make up a scenario) and so it was with great interest that I saw the Superior Baby Monitor, could it be the highest-ranking monitor ever that would protect babies and kids like never before?

Well, let me tell you that the features look good (at least in theory) and even if there isn’t a camera in this so called “superior baby monitor”, it is still a good a pretty good piece of electronics and technology combined, too bad it isn’t the latest top-notch technology…

Anyway, here are some of the good features of the superior baby monitor starting with the most important one:

  • secure way to monitor the baby due to the digital enhanced cordless telecommunication (DECT) that automatically selects an unused frequency band

March 12th, 2007 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets, Spy Stuff

pringles-cam.jpgThese days, technology has advanced to such a point where it is possible to cram in a video camera into such a tiny space, you can actually fit one inside a regular household item. In fact, WatUDoin.com is so good at it they have actually crammed in cameras into 71 (yes, seventy one) different household goods which you won’t suspect to be cameras in a million years. Some of them include dolls, books, and even throw pillows, but for today we will take a look at the super common tin of Pringles that is loved by many a child (and babysitter).
