Casio unveils Pathfinder PAG110C-3 timepiece
Casio has been in the timepiece business for quite a fair number of years already, and most of us would have fond memories of a digital watch from Casio, although these days it seems to be imported from China instead of its spiritual home, Japan. Ah well, their range of G-Shock watches are also a cause to celebrate, since those are some tough devices which can withstand the rigors of an active lifestyle. This time round, Casio America takes the next step forward in the world of watches with its latest addition to the Pathfinder collection, otherwise known as the PAG110C-3. This new Pathfinder will definitely appeal to those who constantly brave the great outdoors, but it also has a conscience since it is eco-conscious with features such as solar technology and recycled packaging.

Mr. Klein Washing Machine reuses water
For those of you that are big clean freaks, you might not entirely like this concept. I’m not even obsessive about germs and dirt, but this still doesn’t entirely sit well with me. Most washing machines wash your clothing and then send the dirty water down the drain. As far as the green aspect goes, that’s a huge waste of water and therefore a bit of a bad thing. This Mr. Klein concept does something a little different with that water. After it cleans up your dirty underwear, it will save the water to be used again for another load.

Solar Roadways prototype now built
Solar Roadways received a $100,000 grant by the Department of Transportation last year, and it is good to see all that money put to good use with a spanking new solar-powered road prototype. Currently, Solar Roadways is in the running for an award as a finalist (“Most Promising Renewable Energy Award”), and initial tests have shown that their pedestrian warning system with a couple of small kids worked like a charm – whenever one of the little ones step on the crosswalk panel, the Solar Road Panel lights up with a warning “SLOW DOWN” for drivers. This ought to help reduce the number of accidents on the road somewhat in the long run, don’t you think so? Solar Roadways hopes to see these solar-powered panels make their way to driveways, parking lots, walkways, playgrounds and even bike paths sometime down the road.

Strata Building can make its own energy
I believe that the ultimate goal of environmentalists is to have all of our buildings be completely independent from “the grid”. In other words, through the use of sustainable resources, buildings will have all the power they need without the power company.
This building, known as the Strata Building, is one step in the right direction. The Strata, also known as the Razor, has three giant turbines on its 42nd story top. These blades are in the building facade and can generate eight percent of the building’s energy use.

Wind Up Socket Concept Timer
Here is an interesting concept that allows the user to save energy, the easy way.
Think of it as a power strip made up of egg timers. Even if you’re too young to know what an egg timer is, you can still figure out how to use it. Just turn it to the proper setting, and it will tick down until the bell goes off. It’s technology that has been almost completely replaced with digital clocks. My children have never seen one, I’m sure.
The Wind up Socket is designed to save energy by plugging in your device, and then turning it to the time that you want it to run. It’s perfect for devices that don’t need to be always plugged in.
