The Car Projector Clock for those that are clock deprived

by Ally

You have to love those gadgets that make you pause and really wonder.  Mostly about how many people actually purchase it.  This one is definitely one I had to stop and think for a bit as to why on earth it’s actually necessary.  Really, cars come equipped with clocks, that’s a pretty standard thing.  However, I did have at one point an old Ford that you had to look at the clock at just the right angle to actually read the time.  It was an old piece of junk though, everything about that car had issues, but I do get that there are some people that are neglected in the clock department.  It is still a far cry from the brand new car they feature on the site to show the laser in action.

Voice Interactive Alarm Clock

by Edwin

Forget about throwing your alarm clock or smashing it to keep it quiet when it rings – the new Voice Interactive Alarm Clock ought to add another novelty item to your bedroom.

This unique alarm clock uses advanced speech recognition technology that lets you easily set the time and alarm via voice commands and responds to queries such as What time is it with vocalized answers. The unit recognizes 10 spoken commands, including Set alarm, Set time, Check alarm, What is the date, Alarm sound (buzzer, chime, or bell), Stop (snooze for 5 minutes), and Temperature (current room temperature). All functions are controlled either by your voice or with a touch of the activation panel, allowing you to quickly set up and operate the clock without tedious and confusing button pressing. The backlit LCD shows the time and date in 2″-high numerals for optimal visibility day or night. The clock also has a voice-activated function that lulls you to sleep with the soothing sounds of the ocean, chirping birds, or a babbling brook.

You can choose to power this via an AC adapter or a trio of AAA batteries – I’d strongly recommend the former if you’re going to be at home all the time. $49.95 is the asking price for the Voice Interactive Alarm Clock.

The Ora Unica watch seems way too frustrating

by Ally

With everyone constantly having gadgets at hand that all tell the time, mainly cellphones, it seems a bit ridiculous to wear a watch anymore.  That is unless you feel the need to make a fashion statement that says you’re so smart you can read a watch that is nothing more than scribbles.  I actually had to minimize the window with the photo of the watch because I felt hypnotized by it.  I just kept staring at it trying to see the point in a watch that would be so obnoxious to read you would end up ripping your hair out.

Cobalt updates Pocket Watches for the new Millennium

by Mark R

I wish that I could remember the era when all the fancy rich guys had pocketwatches. Of course, pocket watches were soon replaced by fancy wristwatches, and then those became less fancy as everyone bought one. Now, most people don’t have watches anymore, because their cell phone has the time.

I suppose that it is only obvious that some tech designer came up with the Cobalt, a pocket watch with a round OLED display. Not only does the screen display the time, date, but the temperature as well. The Cobalt can even give updates from text messages, email, and will even play your voicemail.

The Cobalt is also completely Bluetooth Compatible, and has voice recognition software. There is even a shot that I have seen that demonstrates music-playing capability.

USB Rota-Triangle Hub With Clock

by Edwin

Now isn’t this one of the more unique alarm clocks you have laid your eyes upon? Sure, it won’t be able to just fly off when it rings or roll off the table to hide under your bed, but at least it offers what other alarm clocks can’t – an additional four USB 2.0 ports to further increase your connectivity on your desk. Guess this means you’d best place this at your office table instead of in the bedroom. Each of the USB 2.0 ports will be able to be rotated to 90 degrees, making it a snap to use up all four ports without interfering with one another. It will cost $14 for one of these.

The Alarm Clock Blanket

by AndrewD

It’s a fact. Some people are just not meant to be awake in the early hours of the morning. We’re not exactly sure if this has been proven by science yet, but our own morning troubles are enough to prove to us that some of us are just not early birds.

Even if we aren’t early birds there are certain times when we have to get our butts out of bed to get the worm. It has already been a struggle for many people to find an alarm clock which actually alerts them in the early morning. If you’ve read CG for a while, you are already clear of the numerous attempts companies have made at production. The REMY Alarm Clock Blanket merges our love for warm, dark, and dry places with productivity.

by Edwin

rubiks-clock.jpg

If you happen to still be in love in the 80s, then the 80′s Cube Clock is just the cup of tea for you. Forget about all the other pesky alarm clocks that take all sorts of routes to wake you up from your slumber – this one does it the old fashioned way by ringing away like any good traditional alarm clock would without flying away or running scared under your bed. Powered by a single AA battery, you turn the top of the cube to alternate between time, calendar, temperature and alarm functions. It will retail for $19.99 each.

Wrist Tracker

by Edwin

Look what I’ve fished out from our CG forums – a Cell Phone + GPS tracker + GPS datalogger + watch. I don’t even know what to call it in the first place, but apparently it prefers to be known as the Wrist Tracker. This multi-functional device features integrated GPS and GSM modules complete with a high performance antenna. You will be able to configure its system settings through SMS or USB, and I believe the latter will be the more affordable method. The LCD display shows a variety of information such as system setting, your current coordination data and satellite indicator among others. It will transmit both longitude and latitude coordinates to your cell phone via SMS and can also be tracked online in real time by GPRS. No idea on how much this puppy will cost though.
