Massive Yacht has its own volcano

by Mark R

I love reporting on these giant aquatic constructions like this. I’m sure that this one would take years to construct. Island Yacht Design imagined this Tropical Mountain Paradise, and it looks like would would happen if you put every episode of Gilligan’s Island and put it on a big ship. It even has the episode where there is an active volcano. Granted, the lava flows out into the lagoon, but …

The INgSOC Concept Bike

by Mark R

Every once in a while, you will see some concept of a device that completely throws the old model of the device out the window. Case in point, the INgSOC bike concept. As you can see, the traditional diamond frame has been replaced by this small camel’s hump design. By the way, this bike has a removable battery in the back for some electric riding, in case you were tired …

by Mark R

I didn’t visit Sony’s booth at CES last January, but apparently they had this pair of OLED VR goggles on display. The Sony 3D virtual reality headset is not a product available for this year, but is actually more of a concept and prototype. The senior director of Sony Worldwide Studios has stated that the company is trying to do some research and development for some immersive VR. So are …

Jedibot makes Star Wars gaming impressive, most impressive

by Mark R

While there are no shortage of Star Wars games on the market today, it is always difficult to put a new spin on them. I personally liked the Fleet Commander game that we reported on the other day. The Fleet Commander game captured the massive starship battles from the movie, but this Jedibot captures the lightsaber battles from the trilogies. The Jedibot allows the user to fight with an automated …

by Mark R

A while ago, we covered a certain iPod nano accessory known as the iStick. Its purpose was to lock your iPod nano on your clothes, so you could listen to your tunes while jogging or whatever kinetic activity you were doing. That was back when iPod nanos were thin and slender, but now there is a new accessory for the iPhone or iPod simply known as the Move. It is …

Dave Forbes’ LED-TV Lab coat set for Burning Man

by Mark R

I’ve seen attempts at mixing displays with clothing before, and they usually end up being a stiff screen on loose clothing. Yeah, it isn’t really a good fit, but Dave Forbes has created a 160 x 120 LED video coat that somehow plays video all over. You can watch a video of it after the jump, and you can see how it works. You can see that it is pretty …

Apple and WiTricity team together for wireless charging

by Mark R

I have to thank my wife for sending me the Source for this story. She sent the Source link via IM with a message that read “Have you heard about this wireless extension cord?” All I could think about was: “How can you have a wireless extension cord?” That’s like an oxymoron. This is the magic of WiTricity, based on wireless charging research from MIT. The idea is pretty simple: …
