Guess even the young won’t be able to escape from the world of cell phones, with YoungToys of Korea releasing a digital toy phone known as Zeki. It uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, enabling a mom and kid to communicate with each other as long as they remain within 80 meters of each other. The Zeki also boasts data exchange support between the two, MP3 playback, audio and video recording, SMS (!) and a built-in alarm. No idea if the young one knows how to start texting yet though…

I remember back in the heydays where Pokemon really took off, and there were a slew of other “monster” franchises that made an appearance as well.
