YoungToys Zeki toy phone

February 24th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Mobile Phones

zeki.jpg

Guess even the young won’t be able to escape from the world of cell phones, with YoungToys of Korea releasing a digital toy phone known as Zeki. It uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, enabling a mom and kid to communicate with each other as long as they remain within 80 meters of each other. The Zeki also boasts data exchange support between the two, MP3 playback, audio and video recording, SMS (!) and a built-in alarm. No idea if the young one knows how to start texting yet though…

PicoZ Apache Micro Helicopter

February 21st, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Remote Control Toys

picoz.jpgPicoZ has come up with a fair bit of micro helicopters in the past, but this time we have the Apache version to relive war stories from the comfort of your home.

The Apache’s potent micro motors are powered by a lightweight lithium polymer battery, giving flight times of up to 10 minutes from a 30 minute charge. Once you get the hang of the controls you’ll be shocked and awed by this khaki-colored contraption. Speaking of which, you control the airborne action via a twin channel, wide-beam infra-red transmitter that doubles up as a charger. Old-style petrol-driven monsters? No thanks!

Would you purchase a toy for your kid knowing that this will actually end up annoying you? Well, if you think so, then be prepared to part with £19.95.

New Digimon toys coming your way

February 20th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Toys

bandai.jpgI remember back in the heydays where Pokemon really took off, and there were a slew of other “monster” franchises that made an appearance as well. Digimon was one of them which actually hung around long enough to become a respectable brand of its own while picking up a fair bit of followers in the process, although I never really found that “brand” of monsters appealing. Many years later, it looks as though Digimon is here to stay with Bandai America releasing a whole new line of action figures and role-play toys that target boys in the age group of 4 to 8. You will also be able to catch hold of popular toys such as the new Digivice Data Link and DNA metal chip-laced action figures.

Flying Monkeys

February 19th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Toys

flying-monkeys.jpgMention flying monkeys and you’ll probably think of a circus - and here we have a plastic launcher of equally plastic monkeys, but just like their real world counterpart, they generally make a nuisance of themselves.

While flying monkeys were introduced to the public many, many years ago, this is the world’s first authentic flying monkey launcher. Just load one of the 1″ long plastic winged, fez-wearing monkeys into the 5-3/4″ long plastic catapult device and pull the trigger to propel the primate! Four plastic monkeys included.

This cute little playtime tool can be Junior’s for $5.49, only if his miserly dad has the heart to part with such money.

Santa Infrared Mini RC Helicopter

February 18th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Remote Control Toys

santa-rc-heli.jpg

I guess reindeer don’t quite make the cut for Santa any more as he is sick of flying second class.

Fly Santa right into your living room with this neat 2CH RC helicopter. It is made of a unique material that withstands crashes, and also it is very lightweight. It comes with auto stable and precision speed technology which makes it easier to fly. The Santa Mini RC Helicopter comes with an internal 3.7v 60mAh Li-Poly battery, the newest in RC battery technology. It comes with a full function super wide infrared controller which allows you to go up, down, left, and right. You can even fly with your friends with 3 different frequency bands. This Santa Mini RC Helicopter comes Ready-to-Fly right out of the box, all you need is 6 AA batteries.

The Santa Infrared Mini RC Helicopter can be an (extremely) early Christmas present for $29.95.

Tic Tac Toast

February 18th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

tictactoast.jpg

Mother always said not to play with your food, but with the Tic Tac Toast, that warning comes across as harder to follow.

Another good reason to play with your food! The Tic Tac Toast stamper combines the fun of tic-tac-toe with the tastiness of toast. Just press this 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ plastic stamper into a piece of bread, then put your bread in the toaster. The resulting toast will be branded with a tic-tac-toe grid! When the toasted gameboard is ready, all thats left to do is pick some tasty toppings and play a game.

No prizes for guessing who gets to ear the toast. At least you know both peanut butter and jelly will be more or less evenly spread out. The Tic Tac Toast is going for $2.99 a bite.

Paparazzi Play Set

February 17th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets

pappla.jpgIf you happen to have an overactive imagination and have yet to outgrow your inner child, this Paparazzi play set could make the latter all the more harder to leave.

Now you can bask in the spotlight of your very own red carpet experience, without the indignity of having yourself splattered across the brain-numbing pages of fatuous magazines. These nine members of the worlds snapping media come complete with the ethical and moral depth of an earthworm, are blissfully mute, and will make you feel as adored and sought-after as you no doubt should be. Become a legend in your own lunchtime, a super-star in your sitting room, or a diva at your desk. And best of all, if the paparazzi get on your nerves, you can satisfyingly stamp on ‘em without fear of them whimpering off to file a suit against you. Fame without any of the drawbacks.

You gotta have a pretty mundane life if you think this £14.95 play set will be able to jazz up your life.
