EMTEC to introduce the Gdium at CES 2009

We at Coolest Gadgets are very excited about CES 2009, and you, the reader, will be hearing a lot about it this week. Here’s a little sneak preview of one of the many products that will be on display: the Gdium from EMTEC.

The Gdium is a completely Open Source portable computer, and comes preloaded with applications such as Firefox, Thunderbird, VoIP, a blog editor, video/audio player, and Open Office suite applications. A user who owns a Gdium has full access to a website designed just for him or her. This site has a social networking program as well as email devices, forums, and blogs.

TDVision Systems offer first 3D/2D Compatible Full HD Stereoscopic Broadcast and Blu-ray Format in the world

TDVision Systems, Inc. might not be a name that is familiar to everyone, but they are the leader when it comes to design and development of 3D digital infrastructures and visualization systems, and CES 2009 will be the platform where they will be showcasing their TDVCodec encoding and decoding system for High Definition 3D Digital Video streams which offer Blu-ray support and is able to broadcast at up to 1,920 x 1,080p resolution per-eye there. The main theme of the demonstration is “encode once and deploy anywhere.”

LG to roll out Trumotion 480Hz LCD TV panel at CES

CES 2009 is going to be a bang, never mind that there is the shadow of a looming global recession right behind our backs. The show must still go on, and even if it is going to be on a less grand scale come this January, we will be there to bring you the latest and best coverage in terms of new gizmos and gadgets. Good thing certain companies have prepared everyone else in advance by offering a glimpse into what they have to offer on the vast CES showfloors, and LG Display just announced the completion of its first Trumotion 480Hz LCD TV panel that touts to boast an impressive 480 refresh rate per second that is good enough to accelerate the advent of ultra high-speed images without sacrificing on picture quality in the process.
