Hands on with the Jabra Freeway Hand’s Free Virtual Assistant

by Mark R

On a recent trip to San Francisco, I misplaced by Bluetooth headset. Fortunately, I had something Bluetooth waiting for me when I got back, with the Jabra FREEWAY Speakerphone.

We have reported on the initial release of the FREEWAY back in March, and even though it has a clip for the car visor, it can also work on the desk as well. I found that it instantly recognized my Bluetooth-enabled smartphone within mere seconds of being powered on.

Having the three speakers with virtual surround sound was also handy, not to mention it announcing the name of the incoming caller. The ability to have it answered by me saying “Answer” is another added bonus.

The Tunebug Rumble

by Mark R

We have reported on the Tunebug Vibe before, with its unique ability to turn any flat surface into a speaker. I first encountered the device at CES a few years ago, and was pretty impressed with its primary feature, and Tunebug has a new speaker with the Tunebug Rumble that I have seen at CTIA Spring 2011 Showstoppers.

The Rumble is an ultra portable sound transporter that can be Bluetooth connected to any Mobile device, turning any surface into a speaker.

SuperTooth HD – Hey Mom! I’m Texting and Driving

by Julie

My daughter is only 8, but I’m already worried about when she starts driving. I keep saying that all the high tech distractions we face, will be gone by the time I have to worry about her. I thought I was just making myself feel better, but no, things really are changing. It looks like we already have the option to text, dial our phones and use Facebook, without ever taking our eyes off the road. Phew!

My Review of the BlueAnt S3 Speakerphone

by Mark R

I have used BlueAnt products before like the Q1 headset, and currently use the T1 Bluetooth headset every time that I make phone calls. However, there are some of us that don’t like putting the thing in our ear to make a hands-free call when we are behind the wheel, but the speaker on our cellular phone might not be good enough.

I can only assume that this is why the S3 Speakerphone was made. It comes with a clip for the visor, and designed for making and taking calls while on the road. Considering all the accidents that are the direct result of distracted driving (not just by texting), it’s good to know there are devices for those who hate Bluetooth headsets.

The Cobra Tag – Where’s My Stuff?

by Julie

Okay, I’m pretty good with my mobile phone, and even better with my camera, iPad and laptop. Truth be told, it’s my handbag that l lose all the time. (You can see where my priorities are) I just cant keep my hands on that thing. I tried to carry a change purse instead and that was even worse, I’m already into my second set of replacement credit cards this year. Geez.

Welcome, Cobra Tag, a new and different alarm and loss prevention system that utilizes a smartphone app paired via Bluetooth to a small key fob type device.  Users download the Cobra Tag app to their smartphone and then attach the Cobra Tag device to any item they wish to protect, such as car keys, a purse, or laptop bag. The Cobra Tag monitors the distance between the phone and tagged items and produces an audible alert if they become separated. But that’s not the best part… Continue reading » The Cobra Tag – Where’s My Stuff?
