The Rotating Alarm Clock for the iPod Touch

June 2nd, 2008 by Ally in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, iPod gadgets

I tend to chuckle a little when I see a new iPod accessory, because there is such an overabundance of all different types of them.  Any new one that comes out really has to do something different to stand out from the rest.  Some prefer to do so with extremely high quality sound and others decide to go for a design that just looks a bit different from the rest.  This Rotating Alarm Clock works for all those with the fancy new iPod Touch or iPhone.  However, don’t worry, the alarm clock allows for you to plug in other devices as well, it just won’t sit on the dock like the iPod Touch does.

The Ultimate Game Chair

June 2nd, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets

Just how many ways are there to make your product sound better than “The Ultimate Game Chair“? Well, apparently that just about takes the cake, thanks to a Capcom-branded Reactor Video Game Chair. Ultimate Game Chair is not a piece of furniture actually - it is but the first and only game chair company to have a formal licensing agreement with Capcom, and it would be pretty interesting to see how things shape up from here. Head on after the jump for further context.

SanDisk Extreme III Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo

June 2nd, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Digital Cameras, PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

SanDisk has just announced its new Extreme III Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo that caters for professional photographers and advanced amateurs who want to get serious in their hobby while using Sony’s digital single-lens reflex cameras. This is a collaboration between SanDisk and Sony, being an extension of the existing Memory Stick PRO format that is able to bring unprecedented read and write speeds of 30MB/s for digital cameras and camcorders. Now that’s fast if I ever saw one - make sure you aren’t held back by cheaper point-and-shoot digital cameras where the flash needs to be recharged (this takes quite long). This new line of SanDisk Extreme III cards are also pretty hardy, capable of operating in extreme temperatures ranging from -13 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Each purchase comes with a lifetime warranty. You can choose from the 4GB card for $89.99 while the 8GB card is priced at $149.99.

Sanyo’s projectors are self-cleaning

May 31st, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets

Sanyo has introduced a couple of super-bright projectors to the masses - the PLC-XC55 and PLC-XC50. Both are extremely portable and small enough for mounting on the ceiling or placement on stationary desktops, making it perfect for personal use or even in classrooms. Each of these projectors also boast an extra security feature in the form of the durable Security Bar and a PIN number which is required in order to unlock the projector before it can be used. Sounds like the perfect candidates for the education sector where ease-of-use, portability and security are of the utmost importance. Interestingly enough, the PLC-XC55 and PLC-XC50 are equipped with Sanyo’s Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) that makes filter changing a snap.

Digital Shopping List/Recorder makes shopping h-itech and a lot easier

May 30th, 2008 by James in Audio/Video Gadgets, Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

Smartshopper

Those grocery lists. We have to write them every week. Milk, eggs, butter, yada yada yada. But what if you could just speak into a mic and have something print out for you? That way you can make your list while on the fly without having the fridge open or sticking your head into the pantry and then writing stuff down. I hate writing stuff down! But with the Electronic SmartShopper Grocery List Maker, you have one less list to write. It really couldn’t be easier.

REDI MP3 Player

May 30th, 2008 by Mark R in Audio/Video Gadgets

I don’t know about you, but I’m all thumbs when it comes to MP3 Player technology. I know that most MP3 players have some iTunes-like program to make music downloading and syncing easy, but I’m just not down with that.

So wouldn’t it be easier if I was to buy my MP3 Player with tunes already programmed into it? This is the idea behind the REDI, a 1GB MP3 Player that comes preloaded with about 250 tracks, or six hours worth of music.

For example, one of the REDI models comes ready for exercise with the “Ultimate Workout Mix”. I’m not certain what songs are on this model, but I’m thinking that “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John has to be there somewhere.

You can also get the REDI in eight other editions, including the Golden Classics, Rock N’ Roll, and R&B Collections. Every one of these editions come with a USB mini jack, so you can still upload, erase, and download tunes as much as you like. There is also an FM tuner, as well as an LCD display.

Now, if only they would make MP3 players that come preloaded with music that you get to choose. Perhaps that is another brand. You can still purchase any of these versions of the REDI at Best Buy or off of the company website for about $39.99.

Orb pries iPhones open

May 29th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Software

The iPhone is one stunning device to use, as you surely cannot argue against the sales numbers which doesn’t seem to abate even after being out in the market for approximately one year now? With news of an impending 3G iPhone ready to roll out this summer, the hype train is even going to pick up more speed. With Steve Jobs being the control freak that he is, it is no surprise the iPhone is a pretty locked down device and will take some jailbreaking before it can be unlocked, leaving many people being stuck in iTunes jail. Forget about being in iTunes jail - Orb Networks has a “Get out of jail free” card with their new OrbLive iPhone application. What does this do, exactly? Read on after the jump to find out more.

USB Storage Carousel

May 29th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, PC Gadgets

If you have not yet moved on to the world of MP3s fully with your music collection, chances are you will still have a bunch of CDs stacked away somewhere, neglected and unloved. Why not take some time off to store all of them properly in this USB Storage Carousel?

This carousel is a CD storage system which can hold 150 discs. It can store all kinds of discs in 12cm size, such as CDs, DVDs, game CDs, or music CDs. The unit can be connected to your PC via USB cable and the shape of the USB Storage Carousel for CD/DVD means it’s stackable, thus conserving your desk spaces. You can manage the CD database with the included software and you can locate the CD/DVDs by CD title, CD contents, category, remarks, etc. After searching with the software, simply double click the desired disc and the USB Storage Carousel will spin and pull out the CD. You can also use USB Storage Carousel as a stand alone unit (without a PC). Just directly input the slot number from the key pad, which is located at the right hand side of the unit. After you press the enter key, the machine will spin to the specific slot and pull out the CD for you. With the stand alone option, the product comes with a form for users to index the discs.

ThinkGeek is currently offering this nifty piece of retro media management technology for $129.99.
