Clearvision Playstation 3 Seven Inch LCD Screen

Clearvision Playstation 3 Seven Inch LCD Screen

Some of you might remember the 7 inch LCD Wii Screen that I reported on yesterday, so I felt it only just to report on an LCD screen for the PS3. I have to tell you, these two products are so alike, that someone probably got sued.

Both of these screens are similar in the way they can conveniently attach to your console and play your favorite games. The screens are exactly the same size at seven inches, but it appears this PS3 screen is concave in contrast to the flatscreen for the Wii.

The Wii Screen can plug into a cigarette lighter or wall outlet, but the PS3 screen is plug-in only. I suppose that makes the PS3 screen not as portable as it should be, but hey, portable technology for video game consoles is relatively new. I suppose you could get yourself a PSP if you really want portable Playstation gaming.

AT&T launches Experience Store

by Edwin

att-experience.jpgJust in case you’ve forgotten, AT&T launched its Experience Store on Thursday in San Bruno, bringing the Microsoft Surface to the masses. To refresh your memory, Microsoft Surface aims to offer an innovative and unique customer experience, opening up the possibilities of exploring and interacting with various devices simply by using the sense of touch. With Microsoft Surface, AT&T hopes that its Experience Store will offer something new and different to the masses, introducing a paradigm shift in the ways stores interact with customers. Other than San Bruno, other four locations that feature Microsoft’s Surface technology include New York City, Atlanta, San Antonio and San Francisco. AT&T has further plans to expand and introduce this technology to all its stores nationwide, but that will still take a fair bit of time to accomplish.

Sony unveils 0.3mm thick OLED display

by Chris

Sony OLED Display

While I’ve managed to finally rid my entire house of CRT monitors (with as many monitors as I have, it seemed like quite an accomplishment when I did) I still haven’t upgraded to a flat-screen TV. I’m hoping to pick up a nice LCD TV in the next few months, however, even it would look gargantuan when compared to this latest OLED display from Sony.

Blimpscreen lends a soft touch to viewing movies

by Edwin

blimpscreen.jpgInflatable movie screens – who would’ve thought that those would actually sell? Blimpscreen has a plethora of different sizes to suit just about any budget, whether you are interested in a backyard home theater or to wow Joe Public with a full blown al fresco theatre in the park. Just make sure you have a pretty powerful projector to go along with the Blimpscreen and hope that the airblower used won’t drown out your sound system. Oh yeah, do engage some security guards as well in order prevent any cases of vandalism where the Blimpscreen will be unable to rise to the occassion (literally).

IOGEAR DVI Video/Audio Extender Kit

by Edwin

iogear.jpg

IOGEAR has just launched its DVI Video/Audio Extender Kit, enabling digital signage professionals to distribute video and audio signals within a 100 foot radius to a designated display with a single cable. The entire kit comprises of a couple of DVI units, a local transmitter and a remote receiver where users will be able to hook up with a CAT 5e/6 Ethernet cable. Using DVI cords, the transmitting component will link to the native source and the receiving extender hooks up to a DVI display. The whole idea of this device is to set up audio/video configurations in remote, insecure locations, where the device will be able to broadcast audio and video material for a variety of digital signage settings, ranging from exhibits to trade shows, train stations and airports. Heck, I believe even universities will find this handy as lecturers will be able to dispense their lecture across multiple classrooms simultaneously.

Gigaworks T40 by Creative

Gigaworks T40 by Creative

Sometimes fancy company slogans are actually telling the truth. Such is the case for the GigaWorks T40, PC Speakers that Creative can justly boast: “Ultimate components, ultimate engineering, ultimate performance”.

I got a chance to try these out the other day, and they played almost as good as my normal Logitech Z Cinema speaker system. However, the Z Cinema has the unfair advantage with their giant subwoofer. The GigaWorks T40 may not have that, but it makes up for it with the two premium woofers woven with glass fibres. As for the tweeters, they are arranged in an MTM (midrange-tweeter-midrange) configuration, with a cloth dome for crystal clarity.
