Walkie Talkie Watches keep your hands free

Walkie talkies are useful for keeping in touch with people in the great outdoors. Sure, your cell phone is almost as easy to use (or just as easy if you have push-to-talk), but unfortunately if you’re in the great wild, you aren’t going to have much luck getting a signal. If you’re one that doesn’t want to mess with carrying a walkie talkie around in your hand or on your belt all the time, why not get a pair of that sit on your wrist.

Cassette MP3 player works with your old tape deck

I honestly can’t say that I miss the cassette tape one bit. Sure, I didn’t have a ton of time to really enjoy the format before CDs took over, but anything that you have to rewind isn’t very much fun. Some people still have fond memories of those little plastic cassettes, and want to show off their love. This Cassette MP3 player is perfect for such people.

Pacemaker Portable DJ System

For those of you who want to DJ, but cannot afford two turntables and a microphone, there is a digital handheld alternative: the Pacemaker.
I’m not talking about some internal electric monitor, but the Pacemaker Portable DJ System, which allows for “an extensive range of professional audio manipulation [which] features…limitless mixing between two independent channels”. In short, you can mix, play, and perform anywhere you want, and your mixed tunes will be saved to the 120 hard drive.
The Pacemaker is compatible with all types of digital music formats, and also features “dynamic beat detection, cue, crossfade and reverse, pitch change as well as bend, loop, effects, and EQ”. I’m not a DJ, so I don’t really know what all that really means. I’m sure that all the DJs out there probably think all those aforementioned features are “dope”, but that just shows what I know about DJ-ing.
The Pacemaker ships with a choice of a Mac or PC audio editor, and includes a USB port for computer interface. One of the most prominent features is Pacemaker’s online mix community that could be an audio MySpace/Facebook.
So if you want to be a DJ, and you’re looking for a place to start, you might want to purchase the Pacemaker for about €520.00.
Hide your speakers behind a pair of picture frames

It’s always interesting to see how different people have their offices set up. Some, like myself are proud of their technology, and aren’t afraid to show it off. Others prefer to keep the tech to a minimum in their work area. They prefer to keep family photos and other important items on their desk. These Photo Frame Speakers are perfect for such people.

Music Mug Portable

Man, nothing gets me up in the morning like my iPod and hot cup of joe. Hey, I’ll bet it would work twice as good if I combine the two…there! Oh man, I really need to get sober, fast.
Yes, that does sound stupid, but the photo to the left is not the product of a hangover, but an actual product. This is a designer’s bright idea of an iPod speaker “disguised” as a coffee mug.
The Music Mug works on any MP3 player, provided it has a headphone jack. All you need to do is plug the Music Mug’s cable into the MP3 Player, and let the music play. Just don’t try and pour coffee or some other hot beverage into your Music Mug. The Product Page clearly warns about that.
Is this Music Mug really meant to be some sort of subterfuge for your iPod? If so, then I recommend a smaller MP3 Player that won’t stick out the top, such as the Creative Zen Stone. That way, if your office allows coffee, but not MP3 players, you will finally be able to “beat the system”. Of course, your boss and other co-workers might wonder where the music is coming from. They’ll never suspect the innocent coffee mug!

Aeryon Scout flying camera
Aeryon Labs of Waterloo has released the Aeryon Scout, a brand new invention which is still in its prototype stage. Four connected foam rings, each 30cm in diameter with a rotor inside make up the Aeryon Scout. A camera is hidden in its underbelly, where a “quadrotor” is controlled by a remote control and can fly into places where it’s too difficult, dangerous or time-consuming for ordinary folk to go and snap a few shots. I suppose police and the military will find this useful, and so would the paparazzi.

ION VCR 2 PC digitizes old memories
So you’re part of the remnant on this earth that still owns video tapes but have run out of players to play them. Why not digitize these video tapes instead? At least you will be able to loop them infinitely on your PC, and best of all is there is no need to rewind those tapes once you’re done as everything can be done at the click of a button. ION Audio has just released its VCR 2 PC device that connects to your PC via USB 2.0, with an adjacent composite connection for camcorders, while RCA output is located on the back to playback previews on a TV. In the PAL version, you will find the SCART output as well. All digital conversion will be in the H.264 for iPod/PSP or MPEG-2 for DVD authoring formats. The ION VCR 2 PC will retail for $249 each.

Earth Day Gadgets: Universal Solar Cell Phone/iPod Charger
With today being Earth Day 2008 here in the United States, I thought it would be good to highlight some eco-friendly gadgets for all the gadget lovers out there who want to do their part for the environment. Doing something good for the environment doesn’t involve having to live in a mud hut, sustaining yourself off wheat grass and tofu and wearing only hemp clothing. You can be on the cutting edge of technology and still be green.
Who doesn’t own a cell phone or an MP3 player? Even my grandparents have cell phones. But these items need to be recharged on a regular basis otherwise they just turn into expensive paperweights or something you use to hold a door open. (See? Recycling!) But why not use solar technology to recharge those items that you use all the time? The Universal Solar Cell Phone/iPod Charger will allow you to do just that. From the website:
