Just like millions of other iPod owners around the world, you are daily flooded with news of new iPod accessories, and if you haven’t yet selected an iPod speaker dock or boombox of sorts, you’re definitely spoiled for choice. There are literally hundreds of options available, but don’t simply go plonking down your hard earned cash on any model as the manufacturer’s brand name certainly has a part to play. Memorex might not be at the forefront where iPod accessories are concerned, but their miniMove portable boombox is worth looking into as it attempts to merge both form and function in a single device.

September 17th, 2008 by Marc in Audio/Video Gadgets, Bluetooth, Home Theater
A "new, even smaller" model announcement is an odd thing for a TV manufacturer - usually we hear about larger, louder, brighter sets. There is method to the madness though - historically, plasma TVs have only been available in larger sizes - 40" and above. With the 32PG6000 LG have squeezed Plasma technology into a 32" screen.
Coming soon after the launch of the new LCD TV range this Plasma launch breathes life into a technology many other manufacturers are abandoning, with some innovative new features.
Air Freshener spies on others
September 17th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Spy Stuff
The next time a “buddy” of yours passes you a gift in the form of an air freshener, be wary. Who knows, it could actually contain the circuitry of a hidden spy camera inside? That’s what this Air Freshener from Spycatcher Online does anyway.
A covert 3G color camera and microphone are discretely built into this common domestic air freshener, allowing the user to receive both crisp picture, and excellent sound from anywhere in the world where there is 3G service. Gone are the days where range is important and you can only see images within a 100m radius, on a good day, now you can see and hear not only from another town or Country but also from another Continent. This is a very special piece of equipment, modified by our own engineers and is ideal for security-related situations where clear, and reliable images and sound are essential without the problems of being in range and maybe spotted by the target. Because of its clever disguise this item can easily be moved from room to room without attracting undue attention.
This unique spy Air Freshener has approximately 1.7 hours of monitoring or 300 hours of standby on a full battery charge. I suppose it functions as a bona fide air freshener as well - after all, I’d hate paying £895 for this without it being able to do so.
Plane Quiet Platinum active noise-reduction headset
September 17th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets
Outside the Box Group (funny yet interesting name, that) has just released the Plane Quiet Platinum active noise-reduction headset that will definitely be a boon for people who do plenty of traveling, be it on the road, on sea or in the air. Traveling during peak season is even worse - you will have to jostle with tons of people in sardine-packed environments, not to mention trying to drown out the sounds of crying kids and noisy brat as you attempt to get some much needed shuteye before you arrive at your destination.
Microsoft and McDonalds team up on WiFi access for Zune
September 16th, 2008 by James in Audio/Video Gadgets, Tech NewsIt seems that McDonalds is serious about going after wireless traffic enjoyed by users at Starbucks and is seeking out like minded partners who can help them create an alternative. That’s where Redmond comes in as the two giants in their perspective industries have joined forces to provide free wireless connectivity to Zune users for the Zune Marketplace. That means the Zune faithful will be able to buy and download music from the Zune Marketplace through Wayport wiFi gateways in more than 9,800 McDonald’s restaurants.
3M MPro110 projector to be out soon
September 16th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Mobile Phones
3M’s MPro110 projector is clearly something worth looking into, as this model is small enough to be used in conjunction with a cell phone. It also boasts the distinction of being the first projector from 3M that will be marketed for cell phone usage on an exclusive basis, using an LED lamp to throw a 640 x 480 image on a wall with a maximum picture size of 50″. The sharpness of the image can be adjusted using a thumb wheel, and you can also use this to watch video with your mates when the boss is not looking. Since the lamp is LED-based, things won’t heat up quickly, hence the lack of a fan that also makes it operate quietly. The 3M MPro110 is tipped to retail for $349 when it is available in a couple of weeks’ time.

Sony wireless OLED TV
September 15th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets
Sony loves the wireless world, which is why it is working on a wireless OLED TV that ought to hit the commercial market in the near future. Among the features found on this 11″ model are :-
- 960 x 540 resolution
- 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio
- Integrated battery
- Built-in tuner
Since the tuner has been integrated into the rear end of the display, surely the XEL-1’s position as the thinnest LED TV in the market (3mm) is not threatened. No idea on pricing or availability, but it won’t come cheap that’s for sure.

C-MACC cabinet plays them all
September 15th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets
This C-MACC cabinet (also known as Complete - Multi Arcade Console Computer System in full) was specially designed to be the grand-daddy of all other arcade cabinets you’ve seen in your life ths far. What makes it stand out from the rest is its inherent ability to play virtually every emulated game available, in addition to non-emulated ones thanks to the inclusion of a PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 that are also neighbors with a decent PC within. From the outside, it looks pretty normal, but inside you’ll find a plethora of systems to put you in gaming nirvana. The entire C-MACC cost £5,000 to build.
