When Kodak announced the Zi6 pocket HD Camcorder, it made serious waves. Now, RCA is responding by releasing their own HD version based on their Small Wonder line of pocket camcorders. The EZ300HD will sell for $160 and will shoot 720p HD video and shoot digital still pictures. It has a 2.4” LCD screen, simple thumb buttons that are easy to control (can’t beat a giant red recording button), and 2 GB of internal memory, which is upgradable to the current standard of 16GB, with it’s High Capacity SD card slot. Memorex SingStand microphone speaker system

September 19th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets

Memorex of Imation has just made available its Memorex SingStand microphone speaker system which allows you to croon away to tunes stored on your iPod or other compatible MP3 players. Sounds like a dream if you have the voice of a diva or pop star, but what happens when even the cat runs away with its hair standing straight up whenever you attempt to carry a tune? I guess I’ll leave the results up to your imagination, as what we’re going to focus on today is the SingStand microphone speaker system instead of the effects of noise pollution in the neighborhood.

Sanyo PLV-Z3000 LCD projector

September 19th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets

Sanyo has a spanking new LCD projector in town known as the PLV-Z3000. This model will oust the PLV-Z2000, and as with any new model release, one can expect it to come with the necessary upgrades and improvements, so the PLV-Z3000 is no different in this aspect. First off we will see the PLV-Z3000 utilize Sanyo’s very own TopazReal HD technology that comprises of 14-bit digital processing and real-focus HD lens system. What is TopazReal HD, you ask? It is a 3D color management system that address changes in color phase and color level to obtain perfect color reproduction, producing 1110 times more color combinations than 720p projectors, which is the equivalent of roughly 216 billion color combinations. I don’t think my eyes will be able to tell that many colors apart, but at least I’ll have bragging rights with this.

ASUS AIGuru SV1 First Mobile Skype Phone

September 18th, 2008 by Mark R in Audio/Video Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, Tech News

ASUS just can’t seem to stop its success lately. Not only do they have those hot netbooks, but they have just added to their success with the world’s first Skype Certified videophone called the AiGuru SV1.

The AiGuru SV1 allows the user to make unlimited phone calls with a webcam, speaker, and microphone, and to see the person he or she is calling with the seven inch screen.

Of course, Skype is a funny thing. There are those who cannot do without it, and there are those who have never tried it. If you are in the former category, then you probably work in some business that requires a lot of video conferencing with clients. If you are in the latter category, then you should also find the SV1 easy to use with an “icon-based interface and intuitive button layout”.

Kodak rolls out high end digital photo frame

September 18th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Digital Picture Frame

How much are you willing to fork out for a regular photo frame - $500, tops? Well, Kodak has upped the ante with a new $1,000 wireless digital photo frame just because it relies on OLED technology for superior and vivid image quality in 7.6″ glory, no matter which angle you view it from. Some of the features and specifications of this offering from Kodak include :-

  • 2GB internal memory
  • Built-in memory card reader
  • Widescreen display with 16:9 aspect ratio and 800 x 480 resolution
