Belkin TuneCast Auto Actually Compatible with iPhone 3G
August 7th, 2008 by Mark R in Audio/Video Gadgets, Automotive Gadgets, iPod gadgets
For those of you who have purchased that new 3G iPhone, you may have discovered that some of the original iPhone and iPod accessories are not compatible with it. You might be frustrated at having to buy new 3G accessories, but at least the lines will be shorter when you go back to the Mac store.
Fortunately, Belkin has come to the rescue with the TuneCast Auto for the iPhone and iPod, which, as it happens, is completely compatible for the iPhone 3G. The TuneCast Auto works by attaching it to the line out for car stereo inputs or a cassette adapter.
It allows the user to transmit audio wirelessly on multiple FM stations from 88.1 to 107.9 MHz. So for those of you who enjoy music off of the iPod and iPhone, but don’t have a docking platform on their car stereo, this product is for you.
If Apple can disable third party apps remotely, who’s iPhone is it, anyway?
August 6th, 2008 by James in Apple News, Audio/Video Gadgets, Mobile Phones, iPod gadgetsFrom the company that brought you “bricking your phone for using it the way you want …,” The Giz is reporting a rumor that Apple has the ability to remotely disable applications that they don’t consider worthy or approved. The ability comes from the fact that Cupertino has written in the OS for the iPhone to “phone home” on occasion and get updated with a “blacklist” of applications that shouldn’t belong on the phone. It then proceeds to disable those applications. Swell. Who’s phone is it again?

I had a chance to try out the Mint 220 Digital Music Station, and I found it plays better than most iPod docks with clear and terrific sound.
I was very amazed at one amazing feature of this device. It came with a wireless transmitter key that I plugged in to my computer via USB. In a matter of seconds, the sounds that would normally play from my computer were playing wirelessly from the speakers on the Mint.

Then along came the iPhone and all of a sudden, 8GB was a full fledged model! So, the question arises that if, and when, an iPhone Nano gets made by Cupertino, how big would it really be?
