XARA iPlay Jacket

July 24th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, iPod gadgets

The XARA iPlay Jacket is unique and different from any other jacket you’ve seen, since it comes in iPod-white color and boasts a space for you to store your iPod inside safely and securely. Of course, since the iPod is well-hidden within, it makes perfect sense that the XARA iPlay Jacket comes with a sleeve-based iPod remote control for you to choose whatever track you want to listen to without having to take out the iPod and put it back in again. Features include a mesh lining, bungy sleeves and hem for wind protection while inner cuff hand warmers are there to help keep your hands warm and toasty during those chilly days. The XARA iPlay Jacket will retail for $150.

Obligatory iPhone Post: we’re talking battery life …

July 14th, 2008 by James in Audio/Video Gadgets, Mobile Phones, iPod gadgets

Okay, so just about every tech blog in the Universe is gushing about the wonders of the 3G iPhone. How it supposedly costs 1/3 as much as it did last year, or the wonders of the Application store, or how the 3G network is blindingly fast by comparison of the EDGE network, and how it can even walk on water, raise someone from the dead or turn water into wine. But how long does it last before it needs a battery boost you ask? Only so-so. But there are ways to make it better.

Powerlink 3-in-1 Battery Pack/Data Sync/Flash Drive

July 14th, 2008 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, iPod gadgets

Powerlink has rolled out a 3-in-1 Battery Pack/Data Sync/Flash Drive that seems to be able to do just about anything. First off, we have an “emergency” charger that comes in pretty handy these days considering the huge amount of gizmos we tote around. In addition, it doubles up as a 2GB USB flash drive, perfect for you to carry even more personal files with you wherever you go (just like USB ports, you can never have enough memory in your possession). Too bad it doesn’t clean your home for you, as this wonder unit will retail for $49.99 a pop.

Celebrate your new iPhone with cheesy Apple t-shirts

July 11th, 2008 by Ally in Audio/Video Gadgets, iPod gadgets

The new iPhone launch is finally here and likely quite a few tired iPhone fans are finally heading home with their shiny new iPhones.  Although some have sadly gotten stuck with the white iPhones.  Well if you’re feeling overly fanboyish this line of t-shirts is worth a look.  Although only serious fanboys need apply.  The eagle features a banner that states “in jobs we trust”.  As well as several Apple icons and of course the iPod Touch/iPhone.  These geeky shirts have shirts for the whole family too, making your family the Brady Bunch of fanboys.

Give your iPod nano a Brazilian

July 10th, 2008 by Edwin in iPod gadgets

While most people would associate the Brazilian with trimming one of the most intimate parts of the body, I never knew the term could be applied in the world of consumer electronics - the iPod nano in this case.

Designed to integrate with Apple’s 3rd Generation iPod Nano and leading protective cases, the Brazilian™ from BudTrap™ “Trims the Bush” of headphone tangles in an unobtrusive, fun and colourful way. The Brazilian™ will be available to North America, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand from July 11 at BudTrap.com.

You will be able to choose from pink, orange, red, lime green, baby blue, black and white colors. No idea on how much it costs though, but let’s just say this wouldn’t require you to sell your first born.

iPod Gramophone

June 27th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, iPod gadgets

I can’t help but feel the iPod Gramophone is somewhat akin to the PhonoFone II which we covered earlier this month.

Handcrafted entirely of slip-cast ceramic to replicate the curvature and passive amplification of a French horn, this is the iPod gramophone that augments sound from an iPod without requiring auxiliary power or speaker components. The gramophone projects music using authentic horn acoustics; simply place Apple earbuds on the gramophones integrated cradles and music channels through the coiled tube and resonates out of the flared bell, resulting in warm, amplified sound up to 55 decibels (near the sound level of laptop computer speakers). The gramophone is compatible with all iPod models and similar in size to a desk lamp, allowing for use on a nightstand, credenza, or desktop. The unit is best suited for amplifying blues, folk, classical, jazz, and other music genres that do not produce heavy base frequencies. Includes adapters for earbuds. White ceramic with a clear glaze finish.

If you want a piece of retro plus modern electronics mixed into a single device in your home, the iPod Gramophone can be yours for $499.95.

The Indoor/Outdoor Sentry Wireless Speaker and Transmitter

June 27th, 2008 by Ally in Audio/Video Gadgets, iPod gadgets

Most people that enjoy their music a lot like to keep it with them and on cleaning day having a speaker that can move with you would be great.  Especially in a home with multiple iPods and kids this little Sentry Wirelesss Speaker would come in handy.  The iPod works wirelessly so you could leave it one place and take the speaker with you.  Even more convenient is that the speaker itself is water resistant.  Granted you don’t go dipping it in the pool, but if it gets splashed on or even gets rained on a bit before you can rush it indoors would be okay.

i2i Stream Two Pack from Aerielle, Inc.

June 19th, 2008 by Mark R in Audio/Video Gadgets, iPod gadgets

There are times when we are listening to a song on our MP3 player, and we want our friends to hear it to. I believe that the illegal way is to have your friends download the song onto their MP3 players, but I think we all know that sharing music files is bad.

Fortunately, there legal ways to share a song with devices like the i2i Stream Two Pack from Aerielle, Inc. These i2i streams are universally compatible with iPod and other MP3 players.

All you have to do is connect one i2i stream to your MP3 player and hit the send button. The other stream must be connected to your friend’s MP3 player, and he or she must hit “Receive”. Your friend will now hear exactly what you hear with a wireless signal that can be sent or received at 30 feet.

You can send the signal to more than one i2i Stream. The device even has several different frequencies so you won’t disturb other i2i Streamers. The frequencies can be switched at the touch of a button, and each one is represented by a different colored light.
