Vivo APEX FullView concept smartphone

One of the very best things about a conceptual device is the fact that you can more or less throw in every single bit of technological advancement into the picture, knowing that it does not even have to wait for existing technology and laws of physics to be able to allow it to do so. Vivo has thought of the APEX FullView concept smartphone, which will boast of the world’s very first half-screen in-display fingerprint scanning technology that is merged with other kinds of engineering breakthroughs in its camera, speaker and sensors.

The smartphone of the future would certainly be very interesting if the Vivo APEX FullView was to enter production, especially since the design boasts of the world’s highest screen-to-body ratio. Boasting of unprecedented top and side bezels of 1.8mm, which is the thinnest in the industry, there is also a 4.3mm bottom bezel. The screen-to-body ratio will exceed 98% should it become possible to have the bottom bezel touch the 1.8mm mark, delivering the ultimate bezel-less experience. With the flexible OLED platform, microchips are mounted directly to the flexible circuit board so that the APEX achieves its staggering screen-to-body ratio.

Apart from that, there is also the Screen SoundCasting Technology with APEX, where it transforms the whole FullView display into a speaker. The Screen SoundCasting Technology will send vibrations through the display, bypassing the need for a traditional loudspeaker. This will further conserve power, reduce sound leakage, and optimize low to high pitch sound for a better and more balanced audio experience.

In front lies an 8MP Elevating Camera, where it takes 0.8 seconds to rise up when you call upon its service, retracting after it is used. It works great with the hidden proximity sensor and ambient light sensor, getting rid of the space that is normally taken up by conventional front cameras without having to sacrifice on the much vaunted selfie experience that users crave today.

Of course, all of these are just conceptual ideas, it would take much work to be able to transform it into reality down the road.
