Sena introduces smart cycling helmet

senaYou have only one head, and under that hair and skin on the outside lies a skull. The skull is what keeps your brain protected from all sorts of knocks and hits, but since it is not made out of some indestructible material, you know that some blunt force could actually shatter the skull — and mush up everything inside. This means one should always be extra careful when it comes to protecting one’s head, even more so when you are traveling on a bicycle or motorbike. A helmet is mandatory for road users who get about on two wheels, and helmets have also evolved to keep up with the times. Sena intends to be part of the smart helmet revolution with their new smart cycling helmet.

Being an industry leader in Bluetooth innovation when it comes to the motorsport and outdoor activities market, Sena’s smart helmet is the world’s first Bluetooth and QHD Action camera integrated cycling helmet.

Aptly known as the Sena Smart Helmet, it will offer top of the line technology with the seamless functionality required for your ride. It arrives in a sleek and extremely lightweight design, where it is also equipped with a fully integrated Bluetooth communication system and QHD action camera. With the Sena Smart Helmet, you can carry out a conversation with up to three riding companions, or being able to listen to music, monitor speed, cadence, and heart rate, all the while recording video from where you are to the finish line. Definitely perfect to help you record that victorious moment, right?

This is a Wi-Fi equipped helmet, and riders can capture and share videos from their adventures. With a Smart Audio Mix feature, the user can record music from their smartphone, audio from the helmet’s microphone, in addition to any audio from the intercom overlaid directly onto the video. There is enough memory to store up to 2 hours of QHD quality (1440p/30fps) video or FHD (1080p/60fps) video.
