Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus revealed

Another year, and here we are with a brand new iPhone. This time around, it would be the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus that has been introduced, taking over the mantle of being the “most advanced iPhone ever” from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus — as with every single new iPhone that is released. Either way, these devices will arrive packed with their fair share of innovations that aim to improve all the ways that an iPhone is used every day. Just to set the tone, these new iPhones will arrive with new advanced camera systems that snap pictures like never before, carry additional power and performance with the best battery life to date in an iPhone, immersive stereo speakers, wide color system from camera to display, a couple of new beautiful finishes, and is also touted to be the first water and dust resistant iPhone in order to keep up with the Joneses.

Expect the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to come with a dual camera system at the back. Sporting a 12-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization on both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, there is also a larger ƒ/1.8 aperture and 6-element lens that enable brighter, more detailed photos and videos, in addition to a wide color capture that paves the way for additional vibrant colors with more detail. The inclusion of a 12-megapixel telephoto camera that offers optical zoom at two times and up to 10 times digital zoom for photos should be worth checking out, although it will not be of the wide angle variety that the LG G5 offers.

Later this year will see the dual 12-megapixel cameras being made available with a new depth-of-field effect, where both cameras on iPhone 7 Plus will be able to capture images, with sophisticated technology including Machine Learning separating the background from the foreground to achieve the bokeh effect that DSLR cameras offer.

A new A10 processor will keep the new iPhones running just fine, and the 1/8 headphone jack has been ditched as well. Running on iOS 10, the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available in silver, gold, rose gold and the new black finish in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB models starting at $649 a pop. Those who want the new jet black finish will arrive in 128GB and 256GB capacities only.

So — will these overpriced beauties also feature the touchscreen failures that plague the iPhone 6?
