STEPDive combines SCUBA and snorkeling to let you explore longer

by

If you wanted to go SCUBA diving, how easy would it be for you to don a suit and go under the water? It’s not something you can just jump into and do successfully as a first timer, which is why it seems so daunting to so many people. The depth and horrific monsters that might live in the sea are also a deterrent, but if it was fun and not so hard to do, quite a few more people might be interested in trying it out. Snorkeling is quite a bit easier, but wears you out really quickly.

If you love snorkeling and SCUBA diving, but still need to convince your friends to go with you, and love them enough to make a large purchase to hang out with them, the STEPDive is a serious buy you might want to make. It consists of a base station raft, main user hose with 1st and 2nd stage regulators, harness, attachment clips, buddy hose with a depth control float, and range limit clips. This combines all the freedom of snorkeling with the convenience of SCUBA gear without all the weight and hassle.

The steps you’re supposed to follow as a newbie are to get comfortable breathing underwater, lengthen the line to venture further and get used to the differences in pressure, and then graduate to the longest amount of line out where you venture down to deeper depths and explore! It packs down to the size of a carry-on bag, and can accommodate 2-3 people at a time. This is a $488-795 purchase, and is only going to be useful for those who live near a large body of water that’s worth snorkeling/SCUBA diving in.
