D-Link introduces the Komfy Switch
The folks over at D-Link have announced a spanking new Smart Home Device that will come under the Komfy brand name. Simply known as the Komfy Switch with Camera, this particular device will be able to deliver a new smart light switch which will cater for homeowners who want to create a smarter and safer home. Specially developed in order to replace a standard 1 or 2-gang light switch, the Komfy Switch with Camera (also known by its model number as DKZ-201S) happens to be an all-in-one solution that enables users to keep an eye on their home with a high definition 1080p camera, in addition to monitor a range of environmental changes such as temperature, humidity and air quality. The Komfy Switch with Camera will be available in white and black color options so that they can cater to a slew of interior designs.
At the moment, many solutions would require the placement of multiple devices throughout the home in order to view a room, control light switches and sense changes in the environment, but Komfy relegates all of that to the stone age, as it boasts of additional sensors as well as alerts so that customers will be able to have peace of mind with a single device. The free Komfy app for iOS devices can be used remotely for one to control lights in addition to creating on and off schedules, not to mention sending automatic push notifications to their mobile device so that users will be alerted to changes in the room’s temperature, humidity, and air quality.
The Komfy Switch with Camera boasts of an integrated Full HD 1080p camera with a 130 degree wide angle lens for users to check in remotely, and apart from sound and motion alerts, the camera can also store unlimited video clips on an 8-day first-in, first-out basis to a personal cloud. Expect the Komfy Switch with Camera to ship later next month for $299.99 a pop.
