The Mad Catz C.T.R.L.R. Mobile Gamepad isn’t a one-trick pony
We all have our preferences for platforms, and within that we have specific brands and types of peripherals or controllers that we like using over others. Long ago Mad Catz was at the opposing end of being our favorite, but with time comes change, and they’ve certainly come out swinging. If you’re looking for a multiplatform device that can be as mobile as your life demands it to be, they might just have the controller for you.
The C.T.R.L.R. Mobile Gamepad isn’t all about smartphone games, though you can certainly use this to play them. This gives you an analog stick, D-pad, ABXY buttons, bumpers, and will let you switch between gamesmart mode for playing and controlling Android devices, PC mode for computer games, and mouse mode for navigating Bluetooth devices. There are also multimedia buttons for controlling music, movies, and more.
This comes with software that you can customize and assign for game-specific profiles, and if you get a mount that can attach to the controller, you’ll be able to use it as if it was the Shield. You can also use this on M.O.J.O. with friends, on Amazon Fire TV, and more. This does need AAA batteries to work, and will go for up to 40 hours at a time with fresh batteries. This is going to cost you around $46 or more with shipping, and while the premise is nice, anything that isn’t rechargeable seems like a pain, even though we’re fully capable of recharging the batteries.
