The Lumos Bicycle Helmet – light em up up up
Being a bicyclist can be sort of terrifying. Sad as it is, motorists are often jerks to those on a bike as they as see cyclists as an inconvenience on the road. It’s harder to be seen, and drivers have a hard time predicting what a cyclist is doing. If you want to make sure there’s no miscommunication on your end, then why not signal loud and clear what you mean to do in a familiar way to motorists?
The Lumos Bicycle Helmet will keep your head safe, but what it does will help to keep the rest of you safe as well. This has integrated brake and turn signal lights that are controlled through a wireless remote. It will always pair whenever it is within close proximity to the remote, so you don’t have to worry about pairing and un-pairing it. The remote has a 6 month battery life, so you won’t have to bother with charging it every other day.
There is an accelerometer that will know when you’re slowing down so it can light up a red triangle on the back of the helmet. There are also bright lights on the front of your helmet so you can be seen from either direction. The helmet will need to be charged via micro USB every week, if and only if you only use this helmet for about 30 minutes a day. It is water resistant for those that ride rain or shine, and it will cost you from $99-119. You’ll be able to choose from charcoal black or pearl white once the already successful crowdfunding campaign ends.
