Retouch 3D will help you clean up your 3D prints
The idea of 3D printing is still a relatively new one by comparison of most artistic mediums. It takes hours to get your model correct, an hour or more to print, and you’re still stuck with imperfections and supports when it’s a finished product. If you want to clean up your printed models, it usually means snapping, scraping, and sanding galore.
If you’d rather approach this with little to no fuss, then the Retouch 3D is going to seem like a dream come true. This is a hand held tool that has variable heat control and several different tips so you can melt PLA, ABS, or Resin-based materials with ease. All you need to do is turn it on, choose your temperature level, and start removing anything that shouldn’t be on your print. There will be a chart to help you choose the perfect temperature for the material you would be working with, so it will always feel like you’re taking “a hot knife to butter”.
When you’re finished with your masterpiece, set down the tool after hitting the cool down button and set it to the side for a while. After that point, you’ll only need to turn it off. There are 5 different metal tips you can use that will help you slice, smooth, and refine details. This will cost you anywhere from $179-278 depending on how quickly you act. Seeing that this is a crowdfunding campaign, it may be better to wait until after the funding period has ended and they’ve put the product on the market.
