Sharp AQUOS Crystal smartphone launches in the US
When one talks about smartphones over here in the US, the usual suspects would pop up – the iPhone from Apple as well as other Android-powered devices from the likes of Samsung, HTC and LG, while Nokia would ply the trade of Windows Phone, with BlackBerry targeting what’s left of the corporate market with their range of BlackBerry OS devices. However, the name Sharp (which hails from Japan) would rarely, if ever, pop up, although we have seen a few Sharp AQUOS phones in the past before. This time around, we have yet another Sharp AQUOS smartphone hit the US market, and it is a beauty, being known as the Sharp AQUOS Crystal.
Just take a look at the Sharp AQUOS Crystal and you will be left stunned, as it comes in a nearly 5” borderless HD display that will go all the way to the edge of the handset, offering an unparalleled immersive mobile experience. Running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice, it will also tease your ears further with the Harman Kardon Clari-Fi and LiveStage audio technologies, as it has been specially designed in order to deliver music in an unprecedented manner on a mobile device. With LiveStage technology, it offers a more lifelike listening experience by adding dimension to the sound, while Clari-Fi technology will further improve digital sound quality as it restores compressed digital music.
Other hardware specifications of the Sharp AQUOS Crystal include an 8MP shooter at the back, with a 1.2MP front facing camera for selfies up to 720p resolution. Shooting in low light conditions should not be a problem thanks to the Night Catch feature that will brighten both subject and background using the built in flash. The entire shebang weighs 4.97 ounces and measures 5.16” x 2.6” x 0.40”, and it will feature a 5” HD edgeless LCD display. As for the muscle, you get a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a 2,040mAh Lithium-Ion battery to keep things going. Expect the Sharp AQUOS Crystal smartphone to be made available Stateside via Sprint.
