Net-A-Porter launches Google Glass for all in the US
I am quite sure that all of us have more or less heard about Google Glass, and some of us are itching to be able to get hold of it for the longest time but never really managed to get the chance to be a Google Glass Explorer. It is nice to know that the time has now arrived, where Net-A-Porter.com, which happens to be the world’s premier online luxury fashion and beauty retailer, has just launched Google Glass today to those online shoppers who are in the US.
Of course, the amount of Google Glass units made available will be limited in number, where they are selling a bunch of DVF (which are fashion oriented Google Glass models) units that were made for Glass optical and sunglass styles. These will be sold as exclusive packages in five different colors, ranging from black to green, plum, brown and white. Each of these DVF “Made for Glass” bundle will include the Google Glass itself, a frame and shade, a mono earbud, and case, where the entire shebang will retail for $1,800 a pop.
Natalie Massenet, Founder and Chairman of The NET-A-PORTER Group, shared, “We are thrilled to offer Glass to our tech-savvy customers who are true leaders and innovators in style and lifestyle. We pride ourselves on leading the way in delivering the best in service, product, and technology and we are excited to bring Google Glass to our US customers, ahead of the Glass consumer release.”
You would notice that there is more or less a $300 premium over the regular pair of Google Glass, but that is because it comes in a far more stunning package, and we all know that vanity does come with a price. Would you be willing to fork out the premium in order to look good while jumping aboard the Glass bandwagon with the rest of the masses?
