Ematic introduces FunTab 7-inch Android tablet

Ematic has just rolled out yet another tablet as part of their device range for the masses, and this time around, it would be the kids who will benefit from it. The Ematic FunTab, as it is called, is a 7” tablet that runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Well, this is an intuitive touchscreen device which will teach your little one concerning different subjects, and is a decent tool to keep him or her occupied in the back seat while you drive your way to a holiday destination without getting bombarded by the question, “Are we there yet?” for the umpteenth time.

Specially designed for comfort, the Ematic FunTab is said to come with a durable and rubberized texture for easy gripping. Not only that, hardware is only half of the experience, as this particular tablet also carries the result of a collaboration between Ematic and Zoodles, an award-winning app for kids. In a nutshell, your little ones will be guaranteed to enjoy a safe online environment, while as a parent, you will be able to have the peace of mind that you seek, complete with total access to the content that is made available for your child. Not only that, there is also a parent dashboard that helps to track educational progress.

The FunTab will come preloaded with today’s most popular apps, where the assortment of fun games will include the ever popular Angry Birds, Where’s My Water, Cut the Rope, and Fruit Ninja among others. Since this is specifically a child-centric tablet, some of the other features include Art Studio, a creative platform that allows your child to trigger their inner artist. Video Mail is there to help kids enjoy a unique, interactive way to keep in touch with their family and classmates from Zoodles.com. Imagine someone so young learning how to record short video messages thanks to the FunTab’s front camera!

As for the hardware specifications, we are looking at a 7” 800×480 capacitive multi-touch screen, a 1.2GHz processor with a 400MHz GPU, 512MB RAM, a microSD memory card slot, a built-in 3-axis gyroscope for advanced motion sensing, an Ematic Kids App Mall, front and back cameras, and up to 5 hours of non-stop use. The asking price? A highly affordable $119.99 from Walmart.com.
