BACtrack Digital Breathalyzer

You know the drill – if you want to spend your Saturday nights pub crawling, or at least hop from nightclub to nightclub, it would be best to appoint a designated driver in the first place, or flag down a cab – it is just not worth it taking a risk with your life while driving home reeking of alcohol. For those who have a high level of discipline, then you might want to consider picking up the $29.99 BACtrack Digital Breathalyzer, where it is capable of detecting blood alcohol content from 0.00 – 0.40%, making sure you remain under the legal limits and letting you know about it – and once you have passed the legal limit, hopefully you are still in the right frame of mind to make the right decision in getting home.

Tiny enough to fit into a pocket or purse, it takes just seconds for the BACtrack Digital Breathalyzer to obtain a reading. It will be powered by a solitary AAA battery which is good for 150 tests or so, taking around 5 seconds in order to respond to your breathing. I guess the designated driver would want to carry one of these as well, to show his or her drunk friends that they are absolutely in no condition to be behind the wheel.

I bought this device, tested myself before I drank and it read .00, after 1 beer it read .19, so I waited a few minutes and blew into the device again and it read .07, then .00, and so on. I drank another beer and it read .14, a few minutes later .11, then .00 again. Then I drank another and it read .01, .00, .12 and so on. The device was reading all over the place and this did not change with different batteries either.

it read so high because you blew into it right after you drank alcohol so it read your residual. it picked up nothing but beer in your breath so it seemed like you were drunk as shit. you have to wait like 20 minutes or so from your last drink then blow.
