Opena Case, the bottle opener/case for the iPhone 4
We have discussed the Opena Case for the iPhone 4 before, and I have recently had a chance to try one out for myself.
The Opena case is supposedly “the world’s first iPhone 4 case with a slide out bottle opener”. This isn’t the first time that I have tried out a bottle opener that is also an iPhone case. I remember one that I tried out at a CTIA that had an app with it that would do a programmable sound effect when you opened a bottle.
The protective PC/ABS hard case has an integrated slide out stainless steel bottle opener, and I found that it slides in and out quite well. This feature makes it really stand out amongst iPhone 4 cases/bottle openers, and I wonder if there will be more like them in the future.
I can’t help but wonder if iPhone 4/4S cases will have more strange accessories like this. It seems like one could put a screwdriver set, retractable knife, and other fold-out tools on them. Then our iPhone cases will be nothing more than Swiss Army Knifes.

Does this case scratch the iPhone when the bottle opener slides in and out?

Sounds like a terrible idea to me….but this is only based on the fact that I had 2 iPhones completely die bc of moisture in the charging port. The first was a little puddle of water on a bar actually and it worked fine until the battery died and then it would never charge again and Apple refused to help or replace the charging port. The second time I have absolutely no idea why but the apple geek told me it could be sweat from being in my pocket all the time??? Really…you design a product that typically goes in a guys pocket…but that’s too much moisture for it? I replaced it the first time but moved to Android after the second failure! Putting a bottle opener with the chance of beer spray right beside the charge port and “moisture sensor” which is apples bailout plan since it voids almost every warranty is a HORRIBLE idea!!
