Microsoft’s new video shows us what the future will look like, again

by Mark R

About a few years ago, I reported on a video that Microsoft made showing what the future could be like.

This is apparently the new version of this video. The video, which can be viewed after the jump, is half propaganda for Microsoft and the other half a realistic view of the future.

There is a definite emphasis on mobile technology being thinner, as the tablets and mobile phones are as skinny as credit cards. Considering that the new RAZR from Motorola is going to be the thinnest smartphone at 7.1 mm, I can easily see it going down from there.

About the only technology that I can’t see working now is this 3D and 2D integration. It seems like the people in the video can just flick their finger and some sort of hologram floats in front of them.

The one thing that I believe will be the future is that everything will be connectable. So if you have a meeting in a city where you just arrived, you will be able to look out the window of the taxi and see what building you will be meeting in the next day.

I also noticed that the little girl had one crowded desktop. That is the future right there.

So, what do you readers think? Watch the video below and leave a comment.
