Opera Stage is one of the creepiest ever
by Mark R
I will have to say that I am not a fan of opera, and can honestly say that I have never even seen one. However, this particular stage for a French Revolutionary opera called Andre Chenier makes me want to go (at least to this version).
This surrealistic stage is being built on Austria’s Lake Constance, and it looks like something out of a Hieronymus Bosch or Salvador Dali painting with a 49-foot head.
The weirdest thing is that this isn’t the creepiest set that this opera group has done. One time, they did this set that was a gargantuan book with a giant skeleton as the reader.
If someone is doing a surrealistic movie, then this is your set. Personally, I think someone needs to write a movie where a set like this can be used. I’m trying hard to think of a plot for it, maybe in a new version of Jason and the Argonauts, perhaps?
Hey, who’s that guy standing on the scaffold there? I don’t know, but I can hear him. I think he’s saying something: “You maniacs! You blew it up!! Damn you! God damn you all to hell!” On a somewhat related note, did you hear that there are making another Planet of the Apes movie?
