Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure offers a new way to play

I remember back in the day when I was still a young ‘un, games were more often than not moments where imagination was required. Imagine cops and robbers or cowboys vs Indians – those classic physical games involved plenty of running around and screaming, and we needed no pixelated adventure to spur us on or remain addicted.

How times have changed, where today, nothing less than 1080p and a large screen HDTV is enough to grab the attention of your little ones. Activision has announced Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, an entertainment breakthrough that will target both toy and video game industries. Using technology in an innovative manner, the game will enable players to transport real-world toys into virtual worlds of adventure via the “Portal of Power.

These “toys with brains”, or so they’re called, are able to come to life inside the game in connection with multiple gaming platforms, not to mention handheld gaming devices, mobile devices and on the web. All your achievements and level-ups will be remembered wherever they go, marking a wholesale change in the interaction between toys and video games, while opening up new possibilities and revenue streams for both industries.

According to Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, “These are more than action figures. They are inter-action figures. By pairing world class character design, world class video game design and world class story telling into one entertainment experience, we’ve given players a whole new genre that bridges the gap between the real and virtual worlds. From the first time a kid picked up a stick and pretended it was a sword, toys have unlocked kids’ imaginations. And how often have you wanted to bring those toys to life, to see them become animated and take them on an adventure? Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure does just that.”

No idea on pricing just yet, but you can be sure that your little ones won’t be disappointed if you get them this during the year (or even during the holiday season in December).

I dont see why Spryo looks super evil and distorted. Hes always been kinda sweet. And none of the characters from Spyro are in this game that ive seen so far. This is a very dissappointing game for fans like me that have played it their whole life and have every game. What happened to Dawn of the Dragon? Are they going to make a sequel to that? Because if not i think they just lost a life-long fan.

Why not put Cynder in this game because if Cynder is not in it as a toy or something. So what happens between that if Cynder is not in it how did they get separated anyway they couldn’t be separated because the chain was magic. But anyway i know that some sales may go down because some people don’t like it because Cynder is not in it also it’s SPYRO!! it is supposed to have dragons and mythical things in it and the dragons are supposed to be the main characters The main characters are meant to be (Spyro Cynder Ember Flame Ect.)

Also it will be way better to just be a spyro game where you be a dragon and level up play Co-op being able to swim, fly at anytime also being able to be Cynder Ember Flame or Spyro And you can buy new toys which will be new Dragons to play as and you can add new elements that would be way more fun than just being able to be one dragon. :(

And the action figures well they would be better as just spyro action figures too you know just spyro characters and you add them to the game and they all do different things like Zoe the fiery, that rabbit, Hunter, Flame,Ember,Cynder,Spyro,Money bags, meadow,Chief prawlers, the farmer, and some limited figures like some really old spyro designs, Ect

I hate the new characters and design of Syro. I really thought that they had finally got something with the ledgend series but obviously not. Spyro has basically had the same design for years and I’m sure that many loyal fans of Spyro will agree with me that we don’t want it changed because it’s the face we’ve fallen in love with! Why can’t they make an extra end game (even though the ending to dawn of the dragon was fantastic!) to the ledgend series but still keep Cynder and bring back Enber and Flame.Don’t ruin Spyros name!
