Kajeet – The Cell Phone Service Made 4 Kids

by

When someone tells you that kids these days grow up too fast, believe it. It seems like only yesterday that I brought my little one home from the hospital and all of a sudden, she’s already asking me for a cell phone. Okay, it wasn’t yesterday, and she’s actually seven, but still it went by way to quickly.

Anyway, It would be ridiculous to trust a seven year old with a cell phone, right? Well, not anymore. Kajeet has come up with a phone service just right for your spoiled, um, I mean precious darlings. Kajeet offers a bunch of features that parents will love, like a pay as you go plan, with no contracts, tons of parental controls, call blocking, time manager and a GPS phone locator. It also has tons of stuff your kids will love, like talk, text, pix and play and with the really cool phones they have to choose from, maybe a cell phone for a little one can actually be a win-win.

I look at it this way, if I get her a phone now, while she’s still to little to remember anyones phone number, I save the aggravation of waiting until she’s a teenager. Kajeets plans include talk and text and start for as little as $4.99 a month. The plan includes access to all online parental controls and use of the Kajeet Navigator which contains a wide variety of kid friendly content. Hopefully my status as “coolest mom on earth” will last long enough to get me through her wanting to dye her hair blue.

I have a seven-year-old child too and I got her a Just5 phone without her even asking me. She is not a spoiled little kid but I think a cell phone like the one from Just5 will be of great help to her. Come to think of it, if there happens to be an emergency somewhere without her knowing anyone in the location, what will happen to her?

With this, I introduced her to the Just5 phone’s personal emergency response system. I programmed five numbers in the SOS button so she can reach us anytime she is in an emergency. If she will press the button right now, she will reach me immediately or my husband even when I am currently at work.

Also, the phone’s simplicity makes it a very kid-friendly phone. Now, she doesn’t have to be at home so she can call my husband or me through the landline. Even when she is at school, she can contact us without finding any trouble.

I really love this Just5 phone for my daughter. I will not trust her safety to any other gadget out there. Plus, the better news about this phone is that this is very much affordable. If you want this phone for your child, check out the phone’s site at http://www.just5.com. You can even pick a color of the phone that will match the personality of your child. My daughter has this sunny orange one. Isn’t that cool?

We had Kajeet a few years ago for both of our kids. Good service and nice phones. The downside was the payment. Unless they have improved their payment system, it took anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours for the account to be updated once I submitted a payment. It was very frustrating when one of the kids was headed out the door and we needed to add time to the phone at the last minute.

Once they kids got older, we added them to our Verizon plan. Verizon has some great parental controls as well.

I am a believer in giving the kids the technology early so that they know how to use it. You wouldn’t make your kids wait until they are 16 to touch a computer, right? Cell phones will be as much a part of everyday life as the computer on their desk (if not more). Better to teach them at a young age before the hormones kick in and they lose all common sense.

However, it is important that we make sure that we teach them in a safe environment. Kajeet is perfect for that.
