Acer has new Atom-powered Aspire One netbooks
Acer is a household name when it comes to computers, where they have clawed their way to reach near the pinnacle of the industry. This time round, the Taiwanese company has a new range of Aspire One netbooks that are powered by Intel’s range of Atom processors, with the Acer Aspire One AOD260 and Aspire One AO533 ready to rock and roll. These new netbooks will offer sleek new designs as well as enhanced performance for highly mobile consumers. With these new models, Acer hopes to merge style, performance, battery life and value into a single package. More on the hardware specifications are available after the jump.
With a couple of such netbooks, you can expect pretty much standard specifications (after all, how far can you stray away from the current setup imposed by Intel and Microsoft where netbooks are concerned?), including Intel Atom processors, 10.1″ WSVGA LED-backlit displays, superior Wi-Fi connectivity, integrated webcams and a large keyboards for a more comfortable typing experience. The inclusion of multi-gesture touchpads also helps you keep up with the times, what with the iPhone and other Android-powered devices boasting multitouch capability and muti-gesture performance as well. While both netbooks share selected key mobility features, they are also different when it comes to meeting various customer needs. The Aspire One AOD260 will see performance and a sophisticated design blended together to make a fashion statement, while the Aspire One AO533 offers superior battery life and ample features without breaking the bank.
Both models will not be more than an inch thick, and they also won’t break your shoulders, considering they tip the scales from 2.43 to 2.76 pounds, depending on the battery size that you decide to have it come with. With the Aspire One AOD260, it is highly portable where you can choose from a quartet of colors such as black, charcoal, pink and purple. As for the Aspire One AO533 netbook, you get 8 hours of battery life on a single charge which is more than enough to handle most long haul flights for you to get some work done in between power naps. The Acer Aspire One AOD260 will retail from $298 upwards, while the Acer Aspire One AO533 will start from $329.99.
