TIM (Time is Money) clock shows you how much money is wasted at your business meetings

by Mark R

Back when I used to work for “The Man”, office meetings were the best and worst thing to happen to me.

Since I was paid by the hour, I only had to sit and listen. However, these meetings would often keep me from my duties.

If only I had the TIM or Time is Money Clock. It really is a simply device that makes a calculation that can easily be done on a calculator, but this will get everyone’s attention.

Essentially, it takes the number of people of the room multiplied by the average hourly wage, and then the clock begins to tick. It will show how much money is being spent as the meeting drags on.

Of course, as long as there are businesses, there will probably always be meetings. I believe that originally the purpose was to create synergy amongst employees so the little bit of time used will go a long way. At least, that was what they originally used for.

I suppose what this clock is supposed to inspire is that time is money. Like the one classic Far Side cartoon, where Einstein discovers that “time is actually money”.

You can get the TIM for about $24.99 at TIM website.

sorry, but i won’t divulge my hourly rate in such an open forum.

needs realtime projection capabilities, but even then it’s not going to stop/prevent/shorten any meetings.
