Husqvarna DXR 310 robot for demolition
by Mark R
The last time we were covering Husqvarna, they were working on robot lawnmowers that work like Roombas on the grass.
Now they are working on this Husqvarna DXR 310, which is an “industrial demolition robot designed to work in hard to reach, or just plain dangerous areas”.
As you can see, it has some treads to propel it where it need to go, albeit slowly. It then has some legs to keep it into place while it wrecks things with some attachments like jackhammers, scoops, and claws.
Whoever is behind the controls should be able to pretty much wreck anything he or she wants with this. Seriously, I don’t think that the US. military could stop this guy.
In fact, you know what it reminds me of? I, Robot. You know that scene where Will Smith goes into this mansion of a murder victim to get some info, and he thinks the “demolition-robot” is scheduled to destroy the mansion at 8:00 AM the next day. Of course, the demolition robot gets its wires crossed and destroys the house with Will inside at 8:00 PM.
Remember how all the robots went all rogue at the end of the movie? Just imagine an army of Husqvarna DXR 310 demolition robots. Now that is just scary.
By the way, does anyone out know how to pronounce “Husqvarna”? It looks as easy to mess up as that volcano in Iceland.
