Xbox 360 Afterglow Controllers

by Ally

Gaming in the dark is always way more fun than with the lights on.  Especially if you’re into horror games.  Well for those of you that prefer your games be played with the lights off, you should pick up one of these controllers.  In the daylight they just look like a strange little controller, but at night their lights will shine bright enough to give a mini light show.

The Afterglow Controller works well with the Xbox 360 and appears to come in 3 different colors.  However, you can’t actually choose a color, the color shipped to you will be chosen at random.  I’m not sure I’d like that a whole lot, but I can’t say that I really dislike any of the 3 colors.  Right now these can only be pre-ordered, but they’ll ship out as of the 23rd of this month.  At that time it’ll cost you $29.99 per controller from EB Games.

As if staring at flashing lights on the screen isn’t enough, now you can be more distracted with your peripheral vision with this gadget. Give me a break!

the lights are a gimmick, but they can be shut off. The controller is surprisingly similar to the name-brand xbox controllers. definitely not a bad alternative to the original controllers but it’s not much cheaper.

The afterglow controller is really quite nice. smooth analog sticks, bright lights, light weight, etc. The only problem i had with it, was that the outside boxes are all show a controller that has green lights. However, the controller inside had blue lights. There was not a single place on the box (nor inside) that said it was blue, green, or red. Maybe i just didn’t see it or still cannot find it, but highly doubt it. I looked rather well.

I bought this control simply because it was cheap, but trying to play call of duty or any similar game that requires a quick movement on the control stick was difficult. I found the control sticks to be very stiff and jumpy so I have gone back to using the control my sister’s ex left behind. Apart from that it’s a cool control to play with my other games.

I dislike the controllers, i love the glowing effects, but the controllers right joystick constantly sticks in the down position, even if the joystick is not even touched, my Battlefield 3 game always aims down and I can’t aim because it always goes down, then the joystick broke, im very disappointing in the controller, maybe they should focus on performance more then style.

I give it a 3 out of 10, very bad controller.
